He didn’t win us the league but tried his best and while putting up his case both in and out of the job he and his family are hurting. The players are hurting, most of the supporters are hurting. Like other managers and players, long gone, who were also not successful have to be in the same vain and unable to turn off like a tap. They are humans just as we are and rather than grinding on with and putting down his tenure, Back off and let go, so as a bit of healing can be done. Home grown athletes, snooker players, boxers aren’t hounded in the same way for trying and failing to reach their goals.Greengo wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2024 10:16 pm I agree with the timing of it being aired as poor... The focus has been taken off Tiernan Lynch becoming the new manager with the outgoing manager berating everyone but himself...
At the end of the day lads remember this... "Managers and players come and go but its the fans that remain"... If the Higgins family choose to stay away then thats their decision... If they were fans then they'd still be there through thick and thin like the rest of us...

Re: New manager
That's such a weird point to make John. They're individual sports, where the participants are representing themselves - not this city. Daft to try to compare footbal to sports like that.johnm wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 12:14 am. With respect - this is pretty feckin' rude lad. Higgins did an interview in which he blamed the fans and everyone else for the fact that he was a huge disappointment as a manager and didn't deliver on the 3tyr target he was given. So maybe he's the one who needs to 'back off', take a bit of time away and let the healing begin?johnm wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 12:14 amThey are humans just as we are and rather than grinding on with and putting down his tenure, Back off and let go, so as a bit of healing can be done.

Re: New manager
I thought this thread was about the new manager. We all disappointed/angry but let's move on leave it in the past and embrace the future.
If you want to have a thread about RH put it in a new thread but please guys not in this one. The number of times I have thought there's a new post about our NEW MANAGER only to read something totally irrelevant to this thread. I think you youngsters call it cat fishing nowadays whereas I think it's pure laziness. And I'm entitled to my opinion.

Re: New manager
I have never seen a manager throw as many toys out of the pram after leaving us before.
Agree it is probably time to draw a line under the last management team and move on to the new era, for better or worse.

Re: New manager
I see The Derry Journal today are giving more space and coverage to the podcast interview with Higgins. The Derry Journal run this podcast so it is hardly independent.
But surely to god, we all need to move on. The old manager is gone, and we have a new manager in place - lets respect the new manager and gave him all the help and space and positivity that he needs.
But this constant interview after interview with the old manager, dragging up old dirt, etc; is really not helping. Please let it stop NOW.
Lets everyone move on, Derry Journal, Higgins, Derry CIty FC, Higgins family - lets just accept it is over and a new era has begun.
