Maybe the board are waiting to see what the season ticket sales are like coming into Xmas? Judge the mood based on that?

Yeah can't wait another few weeks to make a decision as the time they recruit a manager and give him a chance of getting targets you can forget about next season as you'll end up having to go back across the water as most decent LoI players will be tied up. If you don't hear anything by Fri I would say we are stuck with him even though it's a cert season ticket sales will be down.

At a very rough estimate I calculate his / the team’s failure cost the club around £1.5m in lost profit and earnings from this season.

Whatever his final yr costs are it’ll be a drop in the ocean in comparison.

& there lies a major part of our problem. Having the manager in charge of scouting, recruitment, negotiations etc means that in times like this we are in a race against time to make decisions. Having a sporting director or director of football would alleviate all that & probably prevent you from going into an end of the season where you have 10 players out of contract at once, have a replacement lined up for your goalkeeper who seems to be indicating he is going but doesn't know how to tell you. They would/should also have an idea of who should be the next manager.

I personally don't think RH will be going anywhere at this stage, backroom staff probably more likely to replaced. Regardless, something needs to change as the club needs to be getting back into Europe at the very minimum for 2026

So you'd have to assume we will be behind Rovers and Pats level next season. That means we will be fighting it out with Shels for 3rd, assuming Bohs, Sligo, Cork, Galway aren't also in the running.

I would be in shock if we finish about Shels next season. Only way that happens is if Duff leaves for a bigger job.

A bit of realism has to come into play as well though. There isn’t many other leagues in Europe where you can go from bottom to title challenge in 3 years.

We would’ve been in a good position now to build on, however being so close to the league and cup and blowing it makes the failure seem a lot worse. The other issue is, RH clearly knows his stuff and is a good manager, but is uninspiring - and when results aren’t coming in it’s a lot easier to blame the manager when he’s not full of passion and jumping up and down the line.

I believe if we were building with RH for next season, we’d have seen at least 1 signing by now. And we haven’t, just outgoings.

In our current situation the next manager absolutely has to be young, enthusiastic and passionate. Which is hard to come by.

With the players leaving, it is definitely going to be a rebuild, and it needs a manger with fresh ideas and passion, to build the team around local young players - not because I particularly care about where our players are from, but because I don’t think we’ll be splashing the cash on your Wisdoms, Patchings, Diallo etc from oversees.

If RH does stay, good luck in the transfer window. Maybe it’s just me but this years available and out of contract players in LOI/NIFL is looking bleak.

If he does stay he needs to change his philosophy and be a lot more attack minded as the vast majority of the support are absolutely fed up of the slow build up, the diagonal balls over to Duffy etc. A slow starr to next season and the knives will be sharpened pretty quickly as things turn ugly.

It’s a shame that Higgins was continued to be put a position he wasn’t able for, and we had to sit through it.

It only costs us a double and European money.

On a personal level it's not nice seeing anyone losing their livelihood but it's in the best interest of the club.

The club need to get the feel good factor back and hopefully they pick the right man for the job

Was clear over the last couple of weeks that this was coming. The fan revolt made it inevitable. I'm just sorry that his time will be remembered for the last few months at the end, rather than the brilliant turnaround that he led over the previous three years. I've no doubt that he'll develop into a successful manager.
