Marty seems to have convinced himself that Kenny would have taken the Derry job had we only sacked Higgins

Kenny is box office. If you want to sell 6k season tickets there's no one better.

His objective is to build a successful team and 'make them exciting to watch'.

The more teams playing exciting football the better.

A very valid point, will be a test for us to sell an extra 3000 season tickets next season, especially playing like we have been this season.

But hey, it's the results that count.

On a more positive note "we're nearly at full strength for the first time in almost 2 years" .. Ruidhri Higgins.

The extra capacity won't all be available for season tickets, they'll keep a certain percentage for people to buy on a weekly basis.

A very good performance.

Solid throughout and never looked in danger. Great to have all the injured coming back, opens up so many more options.

Great 3pts. And Rovers go behind !

Great win. McEleney is best as a no 10 and not deeper as the pass for the goal shows in my opinion.

Think Derry just deserved it overall. Diallo was good until he came off. O'Reilly did well. McMullan wasted a good chance just before goal so it was good to see him get another goal.

Great to get the 3 points against a determined Pats side looking to impress. Tight enough game but Derry just looked like they had more quality about them as the league table suggests. The goal was lovely and not surprising to see some of those players link up play was the difference. Also, a great composed finish by McMullan. Let's hope we can keep it up and capitalise on Rovers being asleep at the wheel.

Last night's match winner wasn't Paul McMullan, it was Cameron McJannett. If he isn't behind Brian Maher to clear Kavanagh's shot off the line then we may have been talking about a different result today. Great result, more of the same Monday, please.

Surely a ' Match Winner" is someone who scored the goal that won the match?

A very valid point, will be a test for us to sell an extra 3000 season tickets next season, especially playing like we have been this season.

But hey, it's the results that count.
We've won 3 top tier titles in 82 years of trying across two different leagues.

In the 27yrs since we last won the league (basically a whole generation ago), EIGHT other teams have lifted the trophy =

- Dundalk : 6 times
- Shamrock Rovers : 6 times.
- Bohemians : 4 times.
- St Pat's Athletic : 3 times.
- Cork City : 2 times.
- Drogheda Utd : 1 time.
- Sligo Rovers : 1 time.

And we've finished runners up 4 times.

So to be brutally honest, at this stage I really don't give a fcuk how we win games - so long as we do.

When we've had the luxury of lifting 2 or more league titles in a row, then I'll get fussy about the manner in which we're doing so. But right now I'm just desperate for us to win the league for a feckin' change - whilst half of us are still alive to actually see it (and I'm not even that old  ).
