Rovers are relying on us now. We need a win and Pat's to drop points at Sligo to guarantee Europe through the league in case the Final goes against us. Nothing short of a win is required by Shels. There will still be drama but not what the kind we hoped for.

Pats won’t drop points

If they do I highly doubt it will be three.

I was being sarcastic  The pitch is the problem as far as Higgins is concerned.

I just hope that if Shels do it, they're given the respect they deserve on Friday night in the Brandywell and we avoid any incidents where our fans let us down.

I think either way (them winning or losing it) it will be a very volatile crowd and, hopefully, we are prepared as such.

A volatile crowd? I don't think so. The supporters have been very deflated since that weekend when we drew the 2 home games.

Considering it's all gone now, and most think winning the cup is our only route to Europe, I think there will be no passion on Friday night. I have even spoke to a few folk who said they might not even bother going.

You don't think the crowd next to the away support won't wind them up should they lose the league (and vice versa)?

It turned volatile on Friday night past when the Pat's schooligans came over to make hand gestures.

Has to be Duff for me.

Would be bad for the league is Rovers got 5 in a row.

Having said that, I still want us to win on Friday. What a dilemma!

If our players are as motivated to win as they have been the last handful of games, then Shels have a great chance of doing it. Will be interesting to see how Duff approaches the game. Normally when he plays Derry it's tight, give nothing away, try to nick a goal. Now he has to win, and go for it.

As others have said I don't want either to win

What would be more funny

10,000 in Tallaght silent after Shels score a late winner at the Brandywell
Duff's face if they don't win it

All week I've been swaying towards not wanting Shels to lift the trophy at the Brandywell and I think that still my hope. Rovers winning 4 or 5 in a row doesn't really make a difference. Their first one was during a shortened season so it's would actually only be 4.5 if they did it....... :D

I think it would be easier on us as fans if Rovers won it, as the celebrations will be in Dublin and we'll not see them live.

Would be tough to watch Shels go buck mental at the Brandywell, to add to our misery. Not a memory I want of seeing another team be crowned champions on our ground.

If Shels win it, a team that is similar to ours in size and financial clout, would be great for the league. It would also highlight the shortcomings of our management team and would be the just rewards for them having gone AWOL since July.

Here's hoping that Rovers don't hoover up another league title and they have the lottery of the qualifying rounds in the ECL instead.

I would imagine our budget is twice the size of shelbournes.

They received a bit of investment there last season.

But they've not won it in 20 years and have had their own financial issues like ourselves.

Rovers are a different level to everyone, partly because of their location, history and modern stadium.

That's why I see Shels as the underdog and i'd like to see Damien Duff win it too. He's good for the league.

You say investment, I say money laundering.

They are part of the multi-ownership model that is now dominating football.

They've shot to the top due to many different aspects aligning.

Duff deserves most credit. But to be fair to them and him they've lost their best players this season.

And lets not forget he's looking likely to win that league with Jarvis up front.

I will be pretty surprised if Shels win the league.
