Will be interesting to see if he has been brought in to play RB or CB?

Re: Squad 2024
John Cofie was a journey man. Wisdom as a young player he was loaned out to 4 clubs in a five year period to get experience, then his next move was a permanent move to a club he stayed at for four years. This makes a journeyman now? Come on.brandyball wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 6:24 pmJourney Man.DeeDerry1975 wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 3:11 pm New signing

Good one…….how to greet a new player, who you most probably have never seen, and, certainly don’t know in any capacity that matters.brandyball wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 6:24 pmJourney Man.DeeDerry1975 wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 3:11 pm New signing

Been with 8 or 9 clubs, had trial with Salford and wasn't signed so in my opinion makes him a journey man, feel free to disagree.

According to that screenshot you sent he has been with 6 so yeah, I'll disagree. God forbid too that an unemployed football goes on trial to get a job.

Re: Squad 2024
You counted Derby twice. In that case will we also add D&D teams to our journey men players if you are counting his school boy days at Bradford? I also think you have counted Liverpool twice too.

Hasn't played in a full football season since 2020/21 ?
Seems a strange signing, but will wait to reserve judgement until he has played.

Re: Squad 2024
He was stabbed in Liverpool in 2020. As the league returned after lockdown he was visiting family and was attacked near the home. He came back into the Derby side the next season but wasn't the same physically or mentally. He went away and recovered and started getting back to football at the start of this year I think it was.Keyser Soze wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 9:14 pm Hasn't played in a full football season since 2020/21 ?

Taken from Liverpool Echo article about his Salford TrialTenaciousDee wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 9:04 pm You counted Derby twice. In that case will we also add D&D teams to our journey men players if you are counting his school boy days at Bradford? I also think you have counted Liverpool twice too.
The right-back is seemingly hoping to return to the Football League and secure a deal with Salford, which would be the ninth club in his career. Wisdom is currently on trial with the League Two outfit, owned by Manchester United legends David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt.

In fairness they are probably counting his two trial matches at Birmingham in PL2 two years ago.brandyball wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 9:20 pmTaken from Liverpool Echo article about his Salford TrialTenaciousDee wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 9:04 pm You counted Derby twice. Re: Squad 2024
According to Transfermkt we are his 7th club & 4th permanent club. Whilst at Liverpool he had 4 different loan moves in 4 years before getting a permanent transfer to Derby where he stayed for 4yrs & made over 100 appearances I'm not exactly sure how that constitutes a journey man.brandyball wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 9:20 pmTaken from Liverpool Echo article about his Salford TrialTenaciousDee wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 9:04 pm You counted Derby twice. As Dee has already alluded to he never properly recovered from his stabbing & reading up on him he took some time out to get himself fit again & found his way back into football with Warrington which has given him his hunger back for full-time football

Left Warrington then had a full pre Season with Salford, who didn't think he was worth a contract(?)dcfc_jp_1989 wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 9:53 pmAccording to Transfermkt we are his 7th club & 4th permanent club. Re: Squad 2024
Didn't Danny Seaborne arrive after some sort of attack as well?
I hope Boyce doesn't go as a result. It feels a bit like the time Kenny signed Kerrea Gilbert for Rovers.
I think he has a good pedigree and isn't a journeyman but the short term nature isn't inspiring particularly if it leads to more committed players leaving. At his best level, he ought to be miles above the LOI.

If he's a different level to LOI, how come Salford and Warrington are the latest clubs he's been involved with?rodgers wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 10:52 pm Didn't Danny Seaborne arrive after some sort of attack as well?

His best is obviously long behind him.
But we'll see how he does. Let's hope he's match fit.
