Behave yourself. Hoban played 120 minutes on Thurs. Fair enough to freshen it up a bit. I'd imagine he'll be on from the 60th minute.

Mulllen has a better goals per minutes than Hoban and if Hoban isn’t fully fit then he should be getting more starts. He has quick feet, links the play well, and scores different types of goals. A quality striker in his own right. Hope we can hold onto him………..

A comfortable win against a shockingly poor Pats side. Don't understand what's happening with them nor do I care... I think Kenny has won 2 games in 11 since taking over which is similar to his Ireland record.

We bounced back and deservedly secured progress keeping the season alive. Performance was sharp and we played with intent and got our rewards.

Great to see Kelly finally dropped but why now? He's been terrible all season. And Mullan drafted in to start and delivers 2 goals. Again, fair play to him. Has a knack of being in the right place at the right time. Ie. the 6 yard box!

We'll be hoping to avoid Sligo and Shels in the next round - everyone else is beatable.

But for me its too little too late. The big prize is gone and the damage is done.

Another home draw is the dteam. Beyond that, you'd have to be happy if we got anyone except Shels or Sligo.

I think the draw is at 12.30. In days gone by looking at the list above you'd have felt a shoe in to win the cup

Shels away
Sligo away

These are 2 to avoid anything else I'd fancy us

We haven't played away in the cup since losing in Finn Park in 2021, we must be a long trek to Munster.

I'm sure we'll make hard work of it but should go through.

Cork is never an easy place to go and they are not to be underestimated.

Would settle for a scrappy 1-0.

I interviewed Ruaidhri after the game and before we went on camera I made the same comment... I did not expect the reaction I got... The reaction was one of pure passion and anger ...

In his words he told me that some people would focus on that type of comment instead of concentrating on the fact that we dominated the game and probably should have won by more... That Derry were the better team and dominated all over the park... That Brian Maher made a great save at 0-0 and kept us in the game and ended up with a clean sheet...
But he said, people will say St. Pats were shite and thats why we won... They are a quality side with great players and a good manager but were shite against us... No one comes to the Brandywell to play shite and lose in the manner in which they did... Instead of praising our performance the doom and gloom merchants will say Pats were shite and that annoys me... Give us praise when we deserve it and we deserved it today...

His words not mine and I was totally shocked but I seen how hurt he can get when Derry dont get the plaudits after performances like that. I appologised for my comment and realised that he was right. Derry were the hungrier team and had a point to prove after Thursday nights performance.

So for all you supporters who actually did praise the performance... Well done...
The rest of yee should take off the blinkers and see it for what it was...

It’s not blinkers. Begrudging naysaying crying moaning is a sign of a certain personality. A negative know it all nitpicking scarcity mentality. The name of this site is Derry City Chat: Home of The Best Supporters In Ireland……Ha f***ing ha…….

Why apologise? Its what you you genuinely believed otherwise why say it? He's on the defensive because of the damage caused by the European disaster. His reputation, the clubs reputation, the players reputation, the league all took a big hit because of what happened v a pub team.

The loss of income alone would take a handful of FAI wins to replicate. I also hope you reminded him that Pats have won 2 from 11 since Kenny took over and whilst the 2nd half performance was excellent few would argue that Pats were poor on the night. Pointing that out isn't fiction?

We all welcomed the win v Pats, most people praised the performance too (hard not to) but if Higgins can't accept the negative press coming his way then then needs to do the talking on the pitch - with results as that's all that matters and all he will be judged on.

The thing is he did accept the criticism for the result against Magpies... Appologised for the display in Gibraltar and how people had paid good money to go out there and then be served up the shit that was delivered... and that was on record too but no one mentions it because its easier to cast a dark cloud than speak the truth...

All I'm saying is that I saw a different side to him after that game... A side that cares about the team and how they perform... A side that few see...
