It is true. The radio station made contact with Copenhagen yesterday and they responded today.

We are constantly told not to book anything until fixtures are confirmed. We haven't qualified for the next round yet. If people booked flights, hotels etc for a game we have not yet qualified for then that isn't the club's fault, it is your fault.

Aye. Copenhagen approached both clubs and asked if they could switch it. Rumour started yesterday about Copenhagen posting the fixtures on their website so Kevin Moore messaged them in the afternoon. They responded this morning.

And presumably both Derry/Magpies were delighted and agreed?TenaciousDee wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 5:18 pm Aye. Copenhagen approached both clubs and asked if they could switch it. If so, do we have dates and venues provisionally agreed

Probably wise move.
*IF* we get past Magpies, and were to be stuffed in Copenhagen in the 1st match, could you imagine how many people would be willing to pay £27 to see a dead rubber?

Isn't it the second leg that is now in Copenhagen? If it had stayed at us being away first, presumably the club would've worked on the basis that the home tickets would be sold out in advance.Keyser Soze wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 6:29 pm Probably wise move.

£27 would barely get you 4 pints in some establishments. Wouldn’t get you a decent bottle of wine in a restaurant. Just get you 2 glasses of processo in the Ebrington hotel. Any kind of half decent show would cost you £30 plus. Any kind of half decent concert £60 plus……..

I'd be there too, but only pointing out that it's Derry we are talking about here.
I'm sure you both have heard the online outrage at the £27 price?
I have already asked around folk I know who go to games, and about half said they won't be buying a ticket to watch Magpies, but instead will head to a pub to watch it. Anecdotal I know, but make of it what you will.
You think it'll be a sellout for our 1st home euro game this year? I don't

Re: European Competition 2024 Draw Details
Not sure i could consider Derry v Magpies as vintage - more like a plonk.
Anyone taking a family would be looking at £100 just to gain entry... it just doesn't add up. We should be offering season ticket holders a ticket for a reasonable amount. I don't think we raise our prices for the domestic cup games so I don't understand the rationale for it.
Also, not everyone who choses not to pay then goes to the pub and spends the same amount on booze so I think that's a bit of an unfair comparison to make.
Anyway, aside from all that can anyone give me an idea of what level Magpies are at?
A decent First Division side? Eg. Cork, Finn Harps etc or better?

It's an artificial surface and Derrys game will be first football game played on it.Keyser Soze wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 7:53 pm Is the Europa Point stadium an AstroTurf or grass pitch?
