Senior hockey can't be played on it. the local Priorians team have had to play all their games away because the pitch is unplayableKeyser Soze wrote:Completely different kind of pitch, meant to be sandy.city till i die 89 wrote:The council can't even maintain the astro pitch at Foyle Arena it is like a beachKEVK wrote:I've said it from the start, but I have no faith in this being done right and I can see a lot of red faces at the end of it.
The Council and those in charge of this haven't a clue about football stadiums and the attention to detail that is involved.

Re: Brandywell Stadium Development
Has there been any confirmation of what type of contamination the Brandywell has and if it will delay the opening of the ground?

It's oil. Shouldn't delay the opening. It's been there historically - just that we're finding it now with the works. Nothing to worry about.

Has the Council announced a completion date yet? I'm sure it's not helping that the builders have been off from 22nd December until 2nd January.

Re: Brandywell Stadium Development
Without having any great knowledge of what's going on with the Brandywell, I can say with a fair degree of certainty that Derry City will definitely not be playing Finn Harps or anyone else in the Brandywell on 9th February.gazwg wrote:Is this confirmed ?TenaciousDee wrote:The first match at the Brandywell will be City v Harps on February 9th
Look at the pictures above. The place is still a building site. Temper your expectations, lads & lassies, we'll be extremely lucky to get in tongue Brandywell for the match against Sligo Rovers on 23rd February.
