Dundalk v Derry City Match Thread

Getting this started to start the debate and discussion. I haven't seen anything on tickets but that is not to say they aren't already available.
Friday night Jon Daly didn't take full charge of the squad so this week will officially be his first. We have contested with a team fresh from naming a new manager already this season but this time around, Daly has had more time to prepare.
Dundalk defensively has improved but scoring goals remains a struggle. Derry City will need to be brave, aggressive and take every opportunity they get.
If you don't go to Oriel then the game is live on LOITV, BBC Radio Foyle and Drive 105.

Opposition struggling...New manager, still trying to work out what's what...Pressure to keep up with rivals...
A safe, cagey Derry City draw it is!

In the build up

- Former Dundalk Captain, John Flanagan, gives us his insights into the opposition.
- Gareth McGuinness talks to Paul McMullan
- Liam Fleming, former Cliftonville Captain and Foot and Ankle physio, discusses the widespread injuries in the league, post-match recovery and playing surfaces.

Normally don’t have time to tune in before match but with that lineup you have, I hope I can get the time.

A game we should win but I have little confidence that we will. I don't think it'll be pretty.

Changes are we will start late. We are stuck in the traffic at Belfast where there has been a crash on the M1. Here an hour now.

As for the game....
Dundalk have hosted Rovers, Shels, Bohs, Pats, Drogs and Waterford in their last six home games without conceding a single goal. In those same six games, they've scored three times.
Goalless draw, anyone?

Out of 20 games we have played up to now we have failed to score in the first half of 16 of them. Shocking stat but not surprising.

We have to be the most boring team in the league. Sideways and backwards non stop and then eventually hoof it up to a dundalk defender. The bottom teams play better football than us. Fed up watching this stuff.

Awful to watch. Have been for a long time. Should be at least 3-0 to bottom of the table team here

Exactly! WTF is going on. We're posing no threat whatsoever. This is disgraceful. Hoping subs will make the difference

Had to go weeks ago. Yet here we are. Served up the same shit week after week. Dundalk should have won that comfortably

We need a right hammering to put an end to this. Unfortunately because we have a team of very good players even without coaching we manage to stay in games as the league is so so poor.
Hopefully Waterford put a few past us Monday and we can wrap this up and still challenge the year.
