Decky's teams always show early promise. His problem has always been longer term. This job (only until the end of the season) is perfect for him.
This is it 100%. Decky is a burning ball of passion, which will always impress and rub off on any team he manages in the early days. But inevitably the same act just wears off and the players realise that he's extremely limited as a coach. He's a great guy, but just isn't up to top tier management. He needs to do what John Caulfield did, and take a step down to 2nd tier managemennt and try to prove what he can do all over again from there.

This is purely a talking point. Not an atgument but but. But if DECCIE had been given the -big bucks as Higgs got do you think things would have gone better for him with Derry

No. Because I think he's a one-trick pony (i.e. passion) rather than a genuinely good manager.
Just look at his managerial career. He's spent most of it as a No.2, whilst most of his time in the hotseat was with Derry City (the rest with NI U16s, and more recently Bohs). It's clear that he's just not rated as a manager, from the jobs he's had.
