DCMF - Diallo/ Fats / Jackie

ACMF - McEneff/ O'Reilly/ Patching

Wingers - Duffy / McMullan / Kelly

Strikers - Hoban/ Mullan / Whelan
Don't think we'll be seeing Whelan this year at all, and maybe not Jackie either?
Plan is for Whelan to return to team training around April time.

Really looking forward to seeing Jackie back. Particularly for the year that this could be and what we all hope it will be. He was the heartbeat of the side that lifted itself off the bottom to European qualification. Very much doubt that he would have got a new contract if he was not going to make a contribution. 100% sure if he stays fit that he will. After all his bad luck he could be our lucky charm.

If this is true then 2024 will be another year without winning the league. This current squad are short of players who make a difference. So its 2nd or 3rd again. And the pundits and Bookies agree. I hope they are wrong but we have been making the same mistakes for a quarter of a century !

If you think that then I don’t know who you have been watching over the last quarter of a century. What exactly are the mistakes we have been making because I am sure RH and everyone else would like to know? Who would you swop out and add in?
Your entitled to your opinion ( thats all it it is): Im entitled to mind. For over 25 years I have been watching DCFC fail to win the League title. Manager after manager for one reason or another, has let it pass by. Last year Shams had an average year by their standards and still won the title. RH has already said we had far too many draws: some of them we should have won. Im not going to pick on players, most, if not all, do their best and follow their managers instructions. Lets hope we squash this hoodoo in 2024.

I would agree that the squad isn't strong enough to win a league title. Pats are looking stronger as are we having added 2 excellent players... but at the expense of seeing several of our own leave. So our first 11 is stronger and should prose a greater goal threat than last season but does that squad have enough depth to sustain a challenge? Much depends on injuries and how quickly our long term injured players can return to form.

If Whelan is not back to light training until April realistically it'll be June the time he is ready for the first team (hopefully the lad gets the luck he deserves), if Hoban gets injured we are short up front as Mullan isn't the answer. The only thing is we prob don't need three strikers as you won't even see two on the pitch at the same time with Higgins in charge.

I still think we miss that midfielder similar to Joe Thomson where by he can break from midfield and be in the box at the right time.

Has Roman Curtis recovered from his ACL? Is he still looking for a club?

Without a club but training with AFC Wimbledon

A move for Curtis on a 6 month deal would make sense for both parties. Him to regain his match fitness before his next step and to give us cover & options in attack.

Better than what? He moved closer to home for personal reasons which are well documented. Now has the opportunity to return. We get a highly regarded coach who wants to be at the club.

Reyonalds is excellent.

Raises the profile of the club too. Important to have respected coaches at the club especially when trying to attract players to join.

Great news if it happens.

Not sure what you mean 'raises the profile of the club' by having Reynolds there.

Our club profile is already as high as its going to be. For the last few seasons we have been the 2nd best club in the league, cup winners, got good publicity for a euro run. Not sure what AR would do that could raise our profile more?

Plus, we already had a league winning manager brought is as No2, did that not raise the profile of the club? What's AR going to do that PMcL didn't?

League winning manager as number 2? Dont think an Irish league championship is that high profile to be fair.

Here’s Ire U21 assistant.

If I’m a bright young talent and I know he’s there then that a big draw when trying to attract players that may prefer to stay in Dublin with Rovers or Pats.

There’s very little of anything between us & Pats. 2 decent sides. So any edge we can find will be an advantage.
