Drogheda United v Derry City Match Thread

We move on to the next game. On the road we seem to find it easier to pick up points and with two in a row away from Brandywell it is an opportunity to keep that trend going.

In terms of personnel, rumours of the severity of Whelan's injury is circulating but no official word. Dummigan and Connolly are not yet ready for a return and Fats may be missing too. Maher suffered a minor injury on Monday but will likely play.

Match is live on LOITV, BBC Radio Foyle and Drive 105.

No players back from injury and Whelan down. That injury list has to be concerning.

Dummigan, Connolly, fats, patching, McLaughlin, Whelan all out currently.

Need some sort of reaction after that result on Monday. Is nearly play Ben doherty and O'Reilly as our holding players in midfield and mceneff in front of them.

Still struggling to find out what our best team is at the moment. Normally it's fairly predictable for most teams but for us it's proving awkward to work out.

Get 3 points on the board tomorrow hopefully

No-one in North Korea was available for comment on this issue.

Dummigan has been a "few weeks away" for the last three months. Clearly, it was a bad injury.

There is a report in the Mirror today saying that an initial scan on Whelan caused concern.

Drogheda is a tight pitch with not much space in behind. I think Graydon might be better left on bench for this one as his control is not great but he is usually a target for flick ons. I'd be tempted to play Coll at left back and maybe push Doherty into an advanced midfield position to take shots from distance.

Drogheda has always been a tricky place for us to get a win. Tight pitch and hard to break down. Wouldn't be surprised to see us drop points again.

Who do we start up front as none of them are scoring. Prob start Kavanagh for his physicality.

Derry really are brutal at passing the ball.

McEneff, who's our leading scorer, replaced by Patching, who isn't.

A vital 3pts.
Again , didn't play well. If it wasn't for Maher and 2 good saves, we'd have lost that.

Patching, why? At times I think you'd be better with 10 men.

Tactically we are shocking. Cant pass the ball to eachother. Cant remember 1 drogheda cross been prevented going into the box. And they always had players in our box. Up the other side we cant cross and theres never anyone in the box

Dismal watch, glad to get three points in a ground we've had trouble in recent years. Being optimistic if we can get Connolly, o Reilly, mceleney and Duffy playing consistently at the same time think we'll improve.

3 points and all that...but by Jesus we are hard to watch...Maher redeemed himself from the rovers match and brought those 3 points up the road...tonight has confirmed for me that the current sideline setup won't win us the league.one up front again....and see. Better passing in an u10s match

That's really the only excuse we have at present, that we haven't got a full squad to choose from. But every team in the league could probably point to injuries they have.

But we are a grim watch. Next to no entertainment at all.
