Tough start and with a couple of 'big' players missing. But still going to fir us to sneak an away win

I have a feeling St Pats will finish close enough to us (in points).
Hard to tell how the first game of the season will go but I'm thinking an opening draw.

Bit concerning Maher down 2 games in a row.

Knew it was coming. Needed the second and missed a few chances in the first half.

To me that looks like a prearranged tactical shout. Play has to stop if the keeper needs attention. As soon as Maher went down all the players raced to the bench to get instructions.

Disappointing to concede so late on.

Disappointing to drop 2 points, really poor 2nd half and our midfield was poor. Patching is a luxury player who is great on his day but is lazy and we don’t have the physical players who can compensate. I know it is the first game so all to play for but we seen this last year so looks like we are going to try the same plays this year.

We really deserved to win this. We were the better team and unfortunately conceded from 4th corner in a row.
We move on. It's early days.
We are still a bloody good team.

Long journey home after this . Cruising ….. on top ……But NO punch up front. Then an amazing set of substitutions Positional switches all round Baby and bath water out the window Then reverting to the old days …..Pats would never score from play ….so let’s just give them free kicks and corners Needlessly … check it out 5 stupid free kicks v late on and we were camped into the 6 yard box hence the 4 corners ,,,, inevitable ….. why this possee of subs ??? some even looking not fit for the pace of the game then the positional re-jigging Baffled 😮 Match handed over to a v poor side who ,at least introduced subs with flair and pace drawing the senseless fouls and gaining the point but a least we got a point All against a v v dodgy keeper too who was hardly even tested Frustrating drive back

As mentioned regarding Patching he is an absolute passenger. Watching him swan about and have zero real impact on the game is frustrating. Doesn't put many challenges in, doesn't move unless he really wants to, had a few horrendous touch les for a guy with supposed technical ability. We cannot afford to be carrying a man like that around for 90mins and more importantly when out backs to the wall in the last 20 mins. We need men to stand up and be counted. He doesn't give us that and never will.

Overall the game was absolutely dreadful especially in the second half. Higgins made some odd substitutions and took off any real pace we had near the end. Shuffled things about too much and we seemed to lose our grip on the game.

Overall I would probably have taken the draw before the game but gutted to lose a goal so late on to that kind of corner.

Graydon should have scored early on, O'Neill was unlucky enough with his shot cleared away off the line with a stranded keeper. St pat's also had their chance with that header at the back post but other than that I don't really remember many clear chances.

Mceneff done very well for our goal. Point probably in the end the right result. Get our players fit this year and we should go well.

On another note do linesmen ever actually make a decision anymore for themselves? Standard of officiating is brutal.

Had hoped the days of sitting back on a one nil were gone.

First half was decent enough but second half was terrible from both sides. When you give up so many corners and frees you're bound to be at risk of a goal.

Linesman seemed to think he was only there to call offside.
