Brandy that’s the rub We brought in young players yet seem to be losing the experience of these 3 just when we were on a roll Harkin too :!:  no word??? It’s a bit of a puzzler for me lots of names but will they gel. The cup final team and Dalio would have been great to start

More scope for rotation now, especially in the Friday Monday Friday run of games where we struggled a bit last year.

Some people reckond previously we didn't have a big enough squad and now others reckon the squad is too big.

Did someone look at the Rovers squad and think that the problem was that we have too many players?

We've clearly added depth but I don't think the view that we may not be able to keep every player happy is a laughable one.

You left 2 words out Marty

WE have too many really good players

Some people are never happy, we will need every player in our squad this season to play to their maximum level to try to wrestle the league from Rovers. Last season when Rovers made a change it very rarely dropped the level of the 11 on the pitch that's what we need and that's why we have all of these lads onboard.

Agreed.

We're at a different level now and people need to get on board with that. We aren't a team with visions of fighting for 4th spot any more.

We seem to be getting carried away by signings Rem we tossed away points last season not due to lack of players but to sheer dire performances Euphoria can be a dangerous emotion Fans are fickle Expecrancy and signings seem to be running hand in hand What is we don’t just perform what will the fans reaction be
Also what if “the money cow dries up “ where are we then .
As for me I’m just hoping overall the football is good and we go for goals If we win we win if not let’s hope at least we put a good shift in

Did our very owner not put expectations of winning the league high on his priority list? Thats what fans of every team do when it comes to signing players. Put the players hand in hand with increased/heightened expectations.

Also with a larger squad it should in effect reduce the amount of 'dire performances' as you have tried to elude to. You should see fresher legs in games due to rotation etc instead of playing with the same squad 2 - 3 times a week that would have caused fatigue and potentially meant poor performances.

We have a squad now capable of at the very least pushing Shamrock rovers. A few players missing yes, is a disappointment early on but the squad that has been assembled is very, very capable of dethroning Shamrock Rovers.

On the matter of 'the money cow, drying up' we consolidate and do what we need as we have done in the past. Lets just enjoy the ride that we are on though and cross those bridges if it ever comes to it.

And finally......Jesus thankgod FOOTBALL IS BACK. Up the CITY!!!

We were a penalty kick away from bringing it home last year, and we didn't get our squad together until halfway through the season.

I think we're in great shape.

Or quality.

Jamie's our best forward and looking forward to him getting a real run with two decent wingers supplying him instead of Smith and Jimmy.

McGonigle is hit and miss. The stats showed he had around 120 shots last season with 11 goals in the league. I believe he got a hatrick in one match and at least one double so there were big gaps between goals. IMO he's not a top clinical striker but hope he proves me wrong.

There's quality over the pitch with at least two good players for each position. Hopefully we can start of well against Pat's on Friday and get momentum from the start.
