By that logic, people don't deserve comments like 'They are well paid so the work environment makes no difference. You have off days in your job, you have days where you need motivation, footballers are no different.
That's my point.
Football is a sport that is intertwined by emotion, it's why every single person on this forum loves it. Even at a premiership level, the atmosphere makes a massive difference.
The day emotion makes no difference in sport is the day I stop following it.
I really don't think any of this is controversial.

Re: Sligo Game
Of course home support makes a difference. The bigger and noisier the better. Hence the term 'home advantage'. It's not just a team playing on a familiar pitch but the impact of the crowd on the players and ref's decisions.
I was just commenting on the idea that they are not well paid.

Re: Sligo Game
Can I comment that Derry were supposed to be tired after Fri and having to play on Mon. Both at home btw Sligo I take it are exempt from this tired argument as they were away from home
Point if you are signed as the best there is you don’t need a crowd to motivate you. YOU THE PLAYERS modify them . At Shels it was v v hard to get motivated by the negative type of play so don’t blame me that I couldn’t raise the players game
Btw I think they are really well paid thank you
