Machday 1 Dundalk A

Post by barry »

The season is upon us. Its very difficult to predict where we are at given so many games in Pre season were behind closed doors. There's a huge support travelling on Friday. I'm going with a 2 nil win

Maher

Dummingan Toal McJannett Lafferty

Patching Jackie Thomson

Smith McGonigle Duffy

Subs
Gartside
Coll
Shane
Fats
Kavanagh
Akintunde

I would have Coll instead of Lafferty all day long why only 6 subs?

Coll offers more defensively but lafftery offers more going forward

I don't think we will have an issue with the 'going forward' part this season! Coll at LB all day long

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the Goalkeeper position. I wonder if he'll give Gartside the spot to begin with then move to Maher eventually.

The other spot that seems up for grabs is the right wing/forward position.

First few games of the season always throw up a few strange results. It's a hard one to predict. A win would be brilliant.

Away end sold out and Derry fans who have bought in the home end will have their tickets refunded.

The bandwagon is back. RAWA………

Hearing Duffy might be out with hamstring injury. Hopefully just a rumour

I think Gartside will start the season no.1. When Boyce comes back I can see him at right back with dummigan taking Jackie's spot as defensive midfielder. We have some good competition for places now which was previously missing.

I think we'll win but the weather isn't looking great snow/gales/rain etc so could spoil the spectacle- wrap up warm if going.

As for the ticketing situation Dundalk have been a shambles with this- releasing them on Friday night as general admission not as home or away and just because Derry fans were buying a lot they revoked them.

Dundalk still seem to be struggling to get back to form, so we should win this one (fingers crossed etc etc)

Great match. We look to have great balance in team and could so easily have won. Duffy too to come back to a team that never gives up.
