Waterford v Derry City Match thread

Post by TenaciousDee »

As you may have seen on Social Media this game is once again in doubt. Due to electrical faults at the stadium it has been proposed that (according to an interview with Marc Birchim) there has been a few proposals to get the game played. One suggestion was to play in a neutral venue, another was to play it in the afternoon and the last is to hold off until Monday week. Waterford seem more in favour with the final option.

Suggestion they dont have the money to get an electrical firm in to solve the problem ???

Size of Waterford, surely theres a local firm who could get this sorted... Then again, it is the weekend...

Any chance of us awarding us a 3-0 victory if they can't fulfil the fixture?

My first Derry game was a rearranged Waterford game due to floodlight failure at the Brandt. Derry were one down after 30 minutes and the game got called off. I wondered how they would deal with the rematch as it seemed unfair on Waterford. We won the rematch. Brings back memories.

That said, F**k them. Game should be played for forfeited.

Looks like the match will be played on Tuesday now. This is going to be a pain with Harps on Friday.

EDIT: Confirmed for Tuesday with a 6:15pm KO

Doubtful. It is a cluster of a week for us. Train in the morning and leave for the hotel in the afternoon. Match Tuesday evening and drive home around 9pm. No doubt there will be no training Wednesday and then pre-match training Thursday before Friday's game. If we get 6 points out of this week it will be quite the achievement considering the preparation and travel the club will undertake.

With a tricky away trio and a day less to prepare for a vital northwest Derby, we'll be really up against it in a week that could really decide our European credentials.

Derry should request the Harps game to be played on Saturday night in view of the upheaval
After all, the team will only get back early hours of Wednesday morning.

Ciaran Harkin suspended and Marc Walsh injured. Jackie will be a big miss.

We concede some amount of goals down our right hand side of the pitch. Bohs got in there a number of times with ease last week to. Afraid boyce is not a full back.

Even 4th could be in danger.

Getting beat 2-1. We have been looking to throw 4th away the past few weeks. Hopefully can turn this around
