2nd pen scored in 95th min.
Now 30min extra time with 2 extra players.
We should be winning this tie from here.

Well to be fair, we had an extra man for close to 30min, and 2 extra men for 10mins and still created nothing outside the penalties.
If we can't stretch 9 players for 30min in that heat and create chances, we need to take a good look at ourselves.

Still creating nothing with 2 extra men.
If we lose this tie it will be a disaster.

Poor.
Extra 2 men for 40min and couldn't create much, other than a free on edge of box.
Shows how far we are behind the top teams. Rovers Pats or Dundalk would have hammered Drogs today after going down to 9.

Agree though not sure Dundalk would hammer anyone anymore. Its a cup game and the result is all that matters for now.Keyser Soze wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 5:36 pm Poor.

Im sure the manager can see what everyone else can see. Work in progress but in the hat for the next round. Season still alive. Just.
And to put it in context. We've just knocked out a team that's has sat above us all season in the league. At their place.

Delighted that we won in the end up but Christ that was hard to watch.
We dominated the ball in the first half without creating anything, only to concede against the run of play.
2nd half it was all us with the added of advantage of playing against 10 then 9. Again, created very littte. Created very little and what we did create was of low quality. Just aimless crosses into the box, we were inept.
It shows what Rauiri is working with when all our changes were u19s and Cole. The squad depth isn't there and there's a real lack of creativity but we know that, we have to do with what we have.
It's great to get through, hopefully we'll get a favourable draw.

Liam Coyle on commentary " If we can't get a result against 9 men, questions will be asked"

Glad to get through BUT
Said before and say again. Midfield and forwards are very poor. Wee Jackie battles and is Ok. However nobody in midfield to control, dictate play. No creativity also. And wing play pitiful. We need 4 or 5 better players to be taken seriously. Some not good enough put simply. Fitzgerald and Akintunde shold be let go. What have they contributed ? And there's a few others than could go too.
We try and keep the ball which is fair enough but it's sideways sideways back.. Too easy for other teams to defend against us. Defenders could take a phone call in the time it takes us to get forward lol but actually true.

McGonigle not on bench !!!!!
If injured again, I really am baffled. ......hardly played.

Me and three others were at it-. I just emailed them the other day and got the tickets no questions asked.
Drogs fans were raging at the ref. A lot of huffing and puffing from us but not clinical enough. It's all about getting to the next round and Gartside and the lads who took the penalties deserve credit

I think if Massey hadn't handled the ball on the line we would have scored.
FFS we got one of toughest away draws in the competition and we got through. Cheer up everyone
