The elephant in the room here...

Why has no one mentioned the fact that not one local GAA club in Derry voted in favour of allowing Derry City FC the use of Celtic Park... ?

Maybe they did not get asked to vote? Did Derry even apply to play at Celtic Park?

They didnt put forward a motion for a vote at the county convention to allow derry to use celtic park because as i keep saying they are a shower of selfish vermin and the love in that some on here like maribor kev have for the gaa is disgusting.

Shauna you are now starting to sound like the GAA of old, were they banned players
from playing GAA if they were caught playing football.

Now you want to ban \ abolish anyone who happens to follow GAA as well as Derry Coty
from being a fan of the club? How is your attitude any different?

And it certainly going to mend bridges in the long term between Derry GAA and Derry City FC

Fcuk the gaa, when did i mention the word ban anyone ? Im just making a point that after the way the gaa screwed derry city over celtic park i cant see how any genuine derry city fans could have any love for them.

When was there a vote? I don't think there was a vote. I'm sure Doire Colmcille and Steelstown would be in favour if it.

The vote closed last Saturday...

I say again in case no one heard me... Not ONE GAA club from this City voted in favour of Celtic Park being let out to accomodate Derry City FC next year...

The cut off date for voting was Saturday 3rd December...

Was there a motion put forward to propose the use of CP for DCFC ?

If so - was it proposed by a club, or can the County Board itself put forward motions ?

Afaik the proposal must be taken forward by a local club to County Board, the motion must then be passed, it goes to the Ulster board then passed onto Congress in February. As of last week DCFC were trying their best to get Dolans, Brian Ogs among others to take the request forward. They obviously failed at the first hurdle.

Adrian Cutluffe, the groundsman at Maginn, either yesterday or on Monday posted photos of the work starting ahead of the seats being installed in the covered terrace at Maginn. Not sure what the situation will be with the standing area at the changing rooms.

If DCFC was trying, behind the scenes, to persuade one or other of the local clubs to put forward a motion to the County Convention then now is the time to come clean about it.

If the Club tried but failed then of criticism of those clubs and the GAA is fair game.

If, on the other hand, no approaches were made, then it is DCFC to blame.

Either way the Club could clear this up with a simple media statement.

The club tried through Steelstown, but the motion was voted down at their AGM so was dead in the water at that time. Pressure from South Derry?

I don't care about South Derry, I simply want to know if any of the local GAA clubs had the courage to support the biggest spectator club in THEIR city!!!!
