Wonder were we will play the european game then ? Cause surely the brandywell in its current state wouldn't be allowed to host even a 1st round qualifying game. As much as i hate to say it but i hope we are forced to play that game in dublin to bring plenty of deserved shame on our council.

Brandywell can host first 2 qualifying rounds.

No mention in the article, but just really with delay after delay.

But there is issues regarding the greyhound side of things that have not been resolved, and i really can't see the council moving forward until that is sorted.

I'm not a fan of this planned development and don't think it is any good for the long run, but we are stuck with them unless we find someone generous enough to pour money into a stadium project.

Aye because they've never been embarassed before ?

READ THIS SLOWLY...

"THE COUNCIL AND ITS ELECTED MEMBERS DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT DERRY CITY FC"

When a pettly little club like a greyhound association can cry foul and get what they want, then what chance does the major rent payer have...

It really is time the Bored came out with a statement condemning the clowncil with this issue. We're being fobbed off with excuse after excuse....THE FUCKERS DONT HAVE A CLUE WHAT THEY'RE DOING!
and it should be said so by the club to the local press/radio/social media/club website.
The club should make a stand once and for all with this. The club have appealed recently for support from the fans and the fans responded in numbers. NOW LETS SEE AN APPEAL FROM THE CLUB TO OUR LOCAL TUBES WHO'S SUPPOSED TO REPRESENT US/CLUB. IT'S TIME.

I think this thread should be locked until such time as the first diggers appear on site cause until then we are going round in circles trying to second guess the councils next move and intentions about the whole scheme.

I fear there's zero chance of the club speaking out against the Council unfortunately.

We've shackled ourselves to the Brandywell, told everyone we have no alternative options, and so are utterly dependent on the Council for our stadium future.

The Council has us in their pocket, and we won't speak out against them because of it.

Theres always alternatives Steve. The club we're relocating anyways. arrangements were in place. lets explore this option even further. tell the clowncil to stick the brandywell up their hole. If other clubs can groundshare...So can we.

Groundshare with who ?[/quote]

You really need me to answer that Shauna? The club looked at other venues as an alternative already. all I'm suggesting is,is the club explores this issue. If the council/doggy men want the dump. let them have it.

Sure what other clubs are in the vicinity that we could share with ? Institute's wee ground meets their needs so they wouldnt want to move in anywere with us.

There's nowhere within a reasonable distance good enough for you to use beyond the short term, and certainly nowhere in Derry.

Threatening to move to a groundshare elsewhere would be seen right through, as it's just not feasible.
