There is surely no way fats can be kept on any sort of a contract he would be interested in.

Yip, he needs to go. Clean break, not contributing anything even when fit. Can't live on past glories.

Anyone stats on how many minutes Fats has completed in 3 years at Derry?

We've serious sicknotes already contracted next year with Dummigan, Kelly, Hoban and Duffy

My thoughts on Bottlers 2024!

I NEVER want to see Paul McMullan in a Derry shirt again
The man is robbing a living as an endurance runner playing football.

Higgins said we need a reboot and that starts with him, higgsy and Conor Loughery followed by:

- Wisdom (earning 14k per month)
- Idehen (can't be up to much sitting on the bench)
- McMullan
- Patching
- Davenport (to think we sent Jackie on loan)
- Diallo (looking to move)
- Whealan (Looking to move)
- Robertson
-Danny mullan cam head on also if he wants.

Time to end the overseas "muckers" transfer policy as recommended by Patching and Gibby et al. We need to address our academy structures also as we are haemorrhaging players!

POD has backed us to the hilt with money over the years but surely even he cant afford to be paying Wisdom 14k per month.

This club is going to have to go through a tough transition over the next two years. With many players out of contract, this is what we're left with. The squad construction has been about short termism in chasing a title but it has left the cupboards bare for the next season and beyond.

Of the players listed above (ages as of 01/03/25), how many are worth keeping and you could see making up a challenging team next season and 2026? Boyce, Doherty, Duffy and Dummigan are only ones I can see. The rest will likely be gone by the beginning of 2026.

Regarding Fats, I don't think that he has shown to be worth the salary he's getting. He hasn't demonstrated an ability to stay fit and keeping him on would be a waste of resources in my opinion.

The club needs a coherent strategy to recruit younger players who can come in, develop and possibly be used to sell on. Without a professional football structure in place that is going to be difficult. The best thing POD could do would be to hire more people to work off the pitch and get things right there. Relying on manager/agent contacts is no longer good enough.

Fats and Coll on the PFAI Transfer List.

https://www.pfai.ie/transfer-list

Means nothing in itself, in the grand scheme of things, but any players give their OK to the PFAI before being added.

One thing it might also suggest is that the other out of contract players saw no need to get themselves on the list.

How many of our players would the likes of Pats, Rovers or Shels wish they could have to strengthen their starting 11s?

Very few, I'd guess.

O'Reilly will be in demand.

Maybe Dummigan and Whelan too. At a stretch Duffy but there no many miles left in those legs.

Outside of those, I couldn't see the top clubs wanting Patching, Fats, Diallo, McMullan, Mullan, Connolly, Shane, Coll, Doherty.

All the best to Whelan, it was a real shame that his injuries were so severe. If he can stay fit, Bohs have a real player on their hands.

Whelan, Devoy and Tierney in that Bohs squad. Young and exciting.

Says it all that Bohs can announce his signing and Derry can't even tell the supporters that he's left.

Great player but his 2 x ACLS really hampered his time at Derry.

Plastic pitches are not great for player welfare and he made the right choice to move on.

Good luck except against Derry!
