After tonight's result I fear rovers now are looking the better bet for the title

Rovers next 2 games are Pats & Shels. If they win both those then I’d agree. They are looking strong atm but still 5 to play.jimd wrote: Mon Sep 23, 2024 10:12 pm After tonight's result I fear rovers now are looking the better bet for the title
This chat about cheating is an interesting one. Over the season teams cheat is all sorts of ways, players hitting the deck holding their face to get a player sent off, diving, goalkeepers falling over in the box under a bit of pressure to get a free kick. It happens in al levels of football. I have no sympathy for Rovers, I remember a game in Tallaght where they took a throw in 30 yards from where they should and Gaffney scored an equaliser against us. If the peno had been given against us we would have been pissed off but what can we do about it, ref gave it. Also, remember last season away to Sligo near the end of the season when the defender climbed on Cian Kavanagh's back in the box and there was no peno given. I'm sure that was at 0-0, we lost the game 1 nil and had Boyce sent off. Swings and roundabouts lads.......Keyser Soze wrote: Tue Sep 24, 2024 7:52 am Had Rovers held on to win against us, I think the title was theirs.
You can see why they were so annoyed about losing 2 pts to such a shocking bit of cheating.
FAI to take no action. Maybe the criticism from the the Refs body may change their mind. It could be the case the ref levelled things up after the handball wasn't given. We didn't hear Bradley complain about the ref in their previous game vs Galway.marcoloco wrote: Thu Sep 26, 2024 3:31 pm It's a dive. 100%. No one is contesting that.
To be fair to the ref he called it as he seen it. Yes he got it wrong but that's human error. It happens.
Was he right to not give a pen for the one before? Debatable. Again, he called it as he seen it.
As for Bradley he's out of order and he should be dealt with by FAI.
Nor did he complain about the ref v Bohs. Two matches (Galway and Bohs) with two possible fouls that were not awarded that then resulted in Rovers goals. There's 4 points.brandyball wrote: Thu Sep 26, 2024 4:25 pmFAI to take no action. Maybe the criticism from the the Refs body may change their mind. Can we capitalise? Not looking like it.
