Surprised he didn't mention the increased wages...

"I'm always wary of "fans" who default to wages as the first point of criticism". That is what you said in December.

There's no doubt that the guarantee of increased wages over a longer time was a contributing factor. We need to be realistic about that and there's nothing wrong with him doing so. Moving for financial reasons doesn't mean you can't give your all.

I wasn't critical of him 🤣🤣

Wages were a major factor in Holt taking the transfer. That's just a fact.

That wee comment I made still stinging you into the New Year?

Far too young for us anyway. Come back in 10 years.

I read this recently in the Journal:

TIERNAN Lynch wants to 'get fans off their seats' and the Derry City boss is confident he’s signed players who share the Brandywell club's attacking DNA.

The Belfast man is expecting his team to bring 'excitement' and put smiles on the faces of the City fans this season with the attacking adventure he believes is engrained in the fabric of the Lone Moor Road club.

Explosive wingers, players taking risks and bombarding the opposition box with crosses is how his team look to embody the true spirit of Derry City and he believes he's got a DNA match with some of his new recruits.

Any update on the injury that kept Holt out of the Sligo game?

Diallo is out with a broken arm now, too, from the looks of it on Derry City X

When he landed on Saturday his arm visibly flopped. Looked worse than it probably is.

Diallo had an operation on the fracture. Lynch said yesterday he was out for a few weeks but couldn't recall the exact timeline.

Having reflected on the performance of our CBs after 9 games, and who we have on the books; I think it was a foolish decision to let Duncan Idehen go on loan. I thought he was decent last season, and deserved a crack at it.

Is Holt really that much better?

Connolly seems to have concrete blocks for boots.

Sam Todd is unreliable, sometimes good, sometimes tragic.

Hayden Cann is far from convincing.

Our lack of pace throughout the spine of the team (O'Reilly aside) is costing us when trying to move between the thirds, and secondly, when defending. A higher line would enable us to press more effectively, however the positioning of our back 4 undermines the press & leaves gaps.

We also have a LB who regularly played in League One but has barely featured since the opening games :o

I almost forgot he was there!

Think there will be an injection of younger players into the squad in the summer window - hard to see this current approach getting us anywhere anytime soon. If we had anyone inside the club with a footballing brain, that would've been identified last season.
