TBH I thought we'd have players lined up to come in the door once the transfer window opened as Pats and Shels mainly have their squads finalised. Rovers I'd expect to bring in a few still but their squad is largely intact apart from Farugia and Kenny.
If Gavin whyte was coming, who was on a free, you'd have thought he would be in for preseason. Hopefully we see players come in over the next week or so.

Whyte is a done deal.

If so he'll be a good signing and I'd imagine a first team starter which is what we need to be recruiting.

Heard Lynch met yesterday with Carl Winchester and today with Gavin Whyte. Potenally another NI international forward.
Well well well

Our transfer policy seems to be target past their prime NI internationals. What is the strategy here? These are very short term signings. I would say 'win now' but I'm not sure this is the way to win. Maybe they feel it'll work for next season, then recruit younger players down the line if Europe is achieved.
Big names but are they still capable of delivering? Remains to be seen. Big wages. No chance of a resale.

TL knows he needs some instant results/success which will buy him time to develop other aspects of the club and eventually bring younger players through

I suspect you're right. Trying to ride two horses, instant success and a rebuild...

I'd say we will swap Hoban's wages for Boyce's wages

I'd see Boyce as a risky signing.
Could he do well in the league and score goals? I have no doubt he could. He's played at a higher level, with higher expectations levels. He has been capped internationally 28 times, so there's a good player there for sure.
My worries? He's 33, so is obviously being bought to bring success this season. He's nearing the end of his career.
He has had a poor recently record when it comes to injury, last couple of seasons have seen him miss spells.
He has only started 3 of Hearts 22 games this season.
Think he'd have the potential to be better than what we saw from Hoban this past season anyway. Only time will tell. If he signs, is that Whyte out of the equation? Is it one or other of them, or could they both be targeted?

We will still get Whyte and a few others too. POD will back Lynch

I find it mind boggling that our preseason is only starting considering how long the offseason is.
