What signings have other clubs made that we’re disappointed we didnt get? I don’t see many incomings to the league of great quality.
Would rather keep the squad slim and focus on quality then go and pick up the likes of a Whyte when they become available. Rather than signing a bunch of journeymen just to get bodies in the door. TL knows what he’s doing

Do you know TL?
I'll assume you don't, and if you don't, how can you say confidently that he 'knows what he's doing".

How can anyone make a comment on anything if that’s the case lol. I’ve watched his Larne sides for years he’s a good manager or atleast was at Larne

I thought we may have had a few more lined up and in by now. Not even seeing rumours in the press and we're back in pre season. I do see Liam Mullen has rejoined after a loan at Portadown and Sam Todd is back too. Not heard if Jackie is back though.
The team had been photographed working in the gym last month and photographed again yesterday training on a pitch. As for Jackie, he is due back from his loan spells at Coleraine but unsure when that will be.
Coleraine announced his loan has ended. I'd assume he'll be back training with Derry in the next few days

Incentive for 2025 is the FAI Cup winners in 2025 are sure to be guaranteed a place in the UEFA Europa League for the summer 2026 as opposed to the UEFA Conference League with the League of Ireland being inside the top 33 in Europe & most likely to stay there come the end of June
Definitely. You'd expect that the league s going to be oiut of reach for us this year, goven we've a new manager and will hopefully have quite a few new players as well. You'd hope the cup &/or a Top 3 finish should be achievable for us though. #Believe

Wonder will this week bring any announcements?
Surely with the team back in preseason training, new squad members need to be brought in sooner rather than later.

At present, a lot of boy are screaming for signings - but we still have a relatively okay squad. The issue is probably quite a boys are probably not the managers first choice, so does he try and keep these boys or move them on.
I believe we have the following players in the first team squad at present:
1. Maher
2. Arlo Doherty
3. Boyce
4. Igehorn
5. Connolly
6. Ben Doherty
7. Dummigan
8. O'Reilly
9. Diallo
10. Davenport
11. McMullan
12. Mullen
13. Robertson
14. Hoban
15. Duffy
16. Todd
17. Harkin (Returning from Coleraine)
18. Mullan (Returning from Portadown)
I still think the issue is that 6-7 of these need to be moved on and replaced with better. But you can thank the previous manager for signing a lot of these boys on 18 month deals, when it was obvious they were only short term solutions.

Let's hope we get better luck with injuries too this season.
That's a fairly decent squad there, if they were all available for most of the season.

Plus Ferguson. Think No 4 is Idehen?

Just be thankful he's gone and we're not sleepwalking into a new season with the same approach to all our games.

I think TL is right don't just anyone for the sake of signing wait till he gets right sort players ,not just signing players on long term contracts recommended by a friend of a friend.

Exactly - boys demanding signings, doesn't always work. Look at Man Utd.
A great manager is the one who can get good players play even better. As Stepken Kenny done in 2004/05.
Maybe Idehen and Robertson could really kick on this season after a good pre-season and the same for Davenport.
Danny Mullen too, could have a good season if used as part of a two up front.
Todd done very well at Larne and they did NOT want to lose him back to us, he played very well in their european games.
If 2-3 of these could really emerge this season, it could save us a fortune in the transfer market.
Maher, Boyce, Doherty, O'Reilly, Duffy, Hoban and Dummigan are still as good as anything in the league, if all fit and sharp.
McMullan could be better, Connolly with the right person beside him is also a smashing player and I do believe that Danny Mullen and Davenport will have good seasons. What will Jackie be like ? Could Ferguson be a revelation ?
Maybe we are not as far off it as people think - Lynch's most important thing in my eyes, is not so much as who he signs - but can he get more out of the team and squad - I believe that he can and will, as we seriously underachieved last season. We could have still won the double, and I don't believe that losing Fats, Shane, Coll and Patching has really weakened us that much. Only the loss of McJannett I think hurt us badly.

Fats, Shane, Coll and Patching - i'm only annoyed about losing Coll from that four. Fats decimated by injuries, Shane not good enough at this level and Patching lost interest. Coll was a big loss as he was a consistent performer. But he's been replaced quickly whist the other 3 have not. So whilst we've lost lots of bodies their contribution over the season was limited.

Personally I think we're about 5 players short and 3 of those would need to be starters. We don't only lack bodies but we lack real pace in this team, we're too slow all over the park. At Larne he focused on counter pressing and pressing high, that requires players to can close down quickly and defenders that have pace to play higher up the field.
If he is going to play a 3-5-2 / 5-3-2 then we'll need at least 5 central defenders or players that can play in that position. At present we have Connolly, Idehen and Todd. 2 more are needed and we need ones that can turn quickly. What we've seen of Todd I've been unimpressed and he certainly doesn't have pace.
I also think we're short of 1, probably 2, creative midfielders or ones that can pick a pass.
We'll need another senior forward unless either Patton or McCourt are ready for the step up.
We have a solid foundation but more is needed to get us to a position of competing. I don't suspect that'll be fixed in this window alone as there'll need to be a bit of squad turnover.

As a minimum we need
X1 rb - Boyce and dummy are injury prone. Dummy is a better DMf
X2 centre backs
X1 Winger
X2 attacking mfs
X1 Striker
