To be honest I thought we would have a couple more players signed by this stage every thing gone very quiet on that front little over 2 weeks to pre season training,
Expect a glut once the transfer window opens.
Only out of contract players in the south available atm

Everything is very hush hush probably because it’s so competitive now to get decent players. Who knows but I’m expecting 4 or 5 new faces to be announced early January.

According to Steven Beacom from the Sunday Life its between Derry, Shamrock Rovers & Coleraine for Gavin Whyte's signature. Coleraine recently had a 24yr old property developer become their majority shareholder who seems determined to spend whatever it takes to get big name signings. They already secured Joel Cooper from Linfield on a pre-contract agreement

Not the type of player you'd want in a relegation battle.

Team are back in pre season next week. I hope TL has some deals lined up as we're pretty light in a few areas. Pat's, Shels and Bohs have recruited well. Only outfield player we've signed is Ferguson and have let alot go.

I'm expecting a few next wed or Thurs once the UK transfer window is open. 7 of our first team squad have gone and two came in meaning a lot of positions still need filled. Expecting roughly 2-3 defenders, 3 midfielders and a striker.

There's loads of rumours, but I'll wait until I see players standing with a Derry City kit on them before I believe any of them.

How do I insert an image on here ?
There's a summary chart online of the players each club has currently signed, and it shows us as having the joint second-smallest squad at the moment - with only Galway smaller than our's

Would expect that to change in the coming days. You may see a focus on signing players from NI / UK who are only available from 1st January?
We've released a lot of players on big wages. And we retained two players that were out of contract and starting every game. And maybe we'll see a quality over quantity approach moving forward.
With no European football and no league cup do we really need a big squad?

Theres a difference between having a big squad and having one of the smallest.
You significantly reduce your chances of wining anything with a relatively small squad, because it leaves you a hostage to fortune re injuries etc. Football 1.0.

Agree. But my first point I think we will see a glut of signings in the coming days. If we are still sat here in mid January saying the same thing then I think we'll have problems. Still plenty of time.

Is Daithi McCallion at Ballymena on a permanent deal or a loan? Chatting to a fella who has been impressed with his performances this season.

It was a permanent move but Derry have the option of a buy back according to the club website
