Fats and Patching were progressive passers who dictated the play?Nige92 wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 8:09 pm Will Patching won't be returning. He had some brilliant moments in his time here. His first season it seemed like he was scoring a free kick or worldie ever other week to help us get 4th place.
Personally, I would have liked to see him come back. With him and Fats gone, we're missing a progressive passer in midfield who can help dictate the play.

Fats hasn’t been fit for 2 seasons at least. Poor fella just never got going.Keyser Soze wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 10:33 pmFats and Patching were progressive passers who dictated the play?Nige92 wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 8:09 pm Will Patching won't be returning. When?
And so he should. The amount of money he was being paid to perform and for most of last season he was on the field doing his best impression of Where's Wally.IfYouTolerateThis wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 12:20 ammaybe Patching feels he bore the brunt for that ineptitude.
Todd is 26, and has played LOI for long enough. If he's not ready now he never will be.marcoloco wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 9:40 am Agree he has the quality but i got the feeling that his heart wasnt in it any longer.
I think he's looking to return home and get a club in England and that probably has as much to do with it as anything else.
There's a few quality players i'd love to see return - Even McLauglin and Josh Daniels - both still young or in their prime years.
And Will TL consider any players from Larne or is that bad form to raid your former club?
We also need 2 x CBs.
And what's the thinking on Todd - i personally don't think he's ready for LOI. Another year's loan would do him no harm.
I'm always wary of "fans" who default to wages as the first point of criticism for poor performances. In every walk walk of life, the salary is usually never a factor in under performance.TenaciousDee wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 10:21 amAnd so he should. I beg to differ.IfYouTolerateThis wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 2:30 pm In every walk walk of life, the salary is usually never a factor in under performance.
I’ve read some shite on here but this is by far the best I’ve seen.. so Higgins is to blame for will patching been a lazy fucker. Higgins controlled players effort an heart. You might not of liked him as a manager but the players and the players only are to blame for there heart an effort !!!IfYouTolerateThis wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 12:20 am I think Patching going is a mistake.
No matter the performances last season from him, who can anyone point to that looked quality under the last manager last season.
Patching is a quality footballer. I'd have liked to see him work under Lynch.
Tbh, I do think, however, he wants away after the criticism he got last year. I know who I blame for the debacle last year, maybe Patching feels he bore the brunt for that ineptitude.
You are correct. Patching is a great player and would have performed under a manager. Higgins played him picking the ball up of the back four all season, not his position.IfYouTolerateThis wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 12:20 am I think Patching going is a mistake.
