No matter how you seek to spin it, that clearly states your view that there should be council training facilities in the Derry-Strabane District suitable for Derry City's needs as a full-time professional football club. Otherwise how would it embarass the council?

Firstly at no point was my post an entitlement post you took it that way. Secondly I was referring to the new development at Dungiven which is under another cash strapped council & thinking if they were able to provide facilities to that standard for their rate payers then why couldn't DCSDC. Thirdly it looks like I'm the one with the embrassment as it seems I was wrong in my assumption & that it could well be Owenbeg if Dungiven is the chosen location which looks a top class facility from the many times I have driven past it

It definitely won't be any time soon - big infrastructure projects take a hell of a lot of time. But it also won't take 50 years either though. I'd reckon delivery some time in the mid-to-late 2040s, but that's just an educated guess/hope.

There's a route feasibility study happening at the moment, and apparently along the Foyle Valley on the northern side is emerging as the preferred option.

Does anyone know then where they decided to set up the training base for the year?

Work stopped 2 week's for holidays just back yesterday so not much to report on that weather not good for that work.

Was in there for a Stute game over Christmas. The concrete terrace of the entire stand is in, and the roof is fully on over it as well now. It still needed the back panels and side panels added, plus the seats, and then whatever still has to happen to the toilet block etc at the rear (you can't see there, and I couldn't sneak round for a nosey either ).

So it's definitely coming on, looks really impressive, and will hopefully all be done before 21st Feb

No longer any rush to get the seats in...

In theory it could open without the seats which were only necessary for European games.

We could save time and just forget about the seats until the summer break or end of next season...

The seats are likely integrated into the rail system to allow to alternate to the safe-standing option as discussed previously.

Does anyone know if the new Nortth Stand is either fully seated or fully standing, or can it be a mix of both at the same time?

I'm sure some folk who might be interested in buying a season ticket for that stand won't ever want to physically stand, and as such will have to be provided with a row and seat number like those in the other 2 stands.

But if it's to be sold as only standing tickets, then they won't have the will to buy a season ticket.

I think : could be wrong that you can sit in the new stand if you wish to do so ,but if most of the fans around you was standing don't know how that would work

How safe standing/rail seating usually works is that it operates as as standing terrace most of the time, with the drop-down seats locked up. Then when you have to have seating only, you unlock the drop-down seats and it becomes seating only.

That's usually what happens. It isn't left to the fans to decide for themselves whether to sit or stand, as that wouldn't work. Because as soon as a few people in front of you decide to stand, your view would be fecked if you're sitting. So it's usualy 100% one or the other.

That's makes sense all right.
