I don't think there's much of a queue to take their place though ?Keyser Soze wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 1:24 pm And the Board needs to take a good look at itself. Is it ruthless enough to make this club successful? I don't think so, when it didn't take the decision to change manager after the humiliating loss to the Magpies. Time maybe some of them stepped aside too?

This is the issue. Plenty of people sitting in the stands and on internet forums great at giving advice and pointing out what needs done. When those on the board do step aside there are never too many people looking to take their place. I’d hazard a guess those doing all the complaining wouldn’t be as blasé with their statements if they were trying to make the decisions.stevebradley wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 12:19 amI don't think there's much of a queue to take their place though ?Keyser Soze wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 1:24 pm And the Board needs to take a good look at itself. Higgins done well in his first season and winning the cup in the second was good progress. There was a buzz around the club but it's gone very stale since.
Think it's inevitable Higgins will go at the end of the season. Annoying because who ever comes in has another rebuilding job next season. Seems like we've been saying that a lot since stephen Kenny left for the second time. Fresh starts that never deliver in the long run.
Rovers have been poor enough for three seasons and have won two titles and may win another next week. Not to keen on shels but would rather they win it than rovers winning five in a row.

The irony of seeing Brandon Kavanagh on the front page of this website in the Derry lineup, a few days after he finished our challenge for the title.
Yet he wasn't good enough to get in our team.

Since Stephen Kenny was appointed in 2004 we've made 10 permanent appointments which includes Kenny & Devine getting the gig twice. That's an average of 2yrs for being a Derry City manager, only Stephen Kenny (2nd time around), Kenny Shiels & Ruaidhri Higgins have managed 3 full seasons. Fenlon, Robertson & Collins circa 6 months. Devine got 4 full seasons across two spells & then 6 matches, Pizza got approx. 1.5yrs across 2 seasons.Paddydcfc2010 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 9:00 pm Higgins done well in his first season and winning the cup in the second was good progress. Its a worrying trend simply because most of them made promising starts but it tailed off in their final season with Stephen Kenny being the exception. Something more than the manager needs to change as we seem to be a club that chases instant success but can't seem to build upon or sustain what we do achieve
