Bring back the League Cup as a prelude to the season. That will take care of the competitive preparations ahead of the season but won't solve the issues with being able to stage games.
Apparently we may be playing Coleraine away now (as in game started). Coleraine's game away to Glenavon was called off, so probably more of a closed doors training session.

Isn't that what they do in Scotland? Could return to the old league cup format prior to 2005 with a regionalised group stage. As you say the biggest challenge would be getting those games played because of the weather but it could be a way of bringing back the league cup & ease the fears of fixture congestion which is why I think it was abandoned in the first place
It is what we used to do and the group games were covered on your season ticket. Because of our record in the competition we probably romanticise it but it is missed and it was used as an opportunity to get players onto the pitch who may have been on the bench or returning from injury.

An away first to allow more time til get the ground red up
No reason why the ground shouldn't be ready in time for the start of the season (?). The new stand is making good progress at the moment, and a few friendlies late Jan/early Feb should test it out and get its certs sorted.
Looks like you were wrong. As I was saying a few aways to start would have made more sense

As the old saying goes, we are where we are.
There's no reaosn we can't play homes games without the new stand, so I doubt it would be strong enough reason to ask to change the fixture schedule. We can still more than adequately fulfil those February home fixtures, new stand or not.
Will be a shame if the new stand misses a couple of home fixtures at the start of the season, but it wont be the end of the world. Will be a great facility once it's open.

Being wrong hasn't taken any of the wind from your sails anyway

Well done, lad. Message me your address and I'll send you a wee gold star to put on your fridge
We are where we are with the new stand timings, so you're just going to have to come to terms with it. Hopefully it'll open as soon as poissible - if only to stop the crying .

Not complained once about the inevitable delay son but you'd do well to remember you don't know everything and you're not always right
Never claimed I was lad. Who pissed on your cornflakes this weekend?
Our clash with Sligo Rovers on Easter Monday will now be on the Tuesday night with a 7:45pm Kick-Off. Not ideal when you consider we are away to Waterford on the Friday.
