Wasn't pretty, but the win is all that matters for now.

Dire stuff, lucky to get the win. Hoban, o reilly, mc mullen and to be honest most of the team have been poor in the last month . So slow and so predictable. Let's hope for a home draw next round.

Very good result, Cork better in first half and should have been ahead on more than one occasion.
Thought Derry very slowly got a grip on the game and by the end slightly edged it. Created next to nothing though.

Keyser and others I hate foulers detest them and have proof Kavanagh cost us 9 points in 3vgames Diallo missed the Cup final and his disgraceful pens v Bohs and Sligo cost us big time O Reilly is running round like a spoiled brat Off v Gibralter and bookings week in and outb Butbboys his contribution is work rate Not passing or opening up,teams Patching can but has no work rate Donnican is the one but Boyce is sacrificed so Donnican too loses out But a win as win

Shels through 5-3 on pens. Galway out.
Waterford out. Lost 2-3 to Athlone who scored 2 in the last few minutes.
Derry, Bohs, Shels, Drogs and Sligo the PL teams likely to be in the hat on Tuesday.

Thanks for that B Heard a rumour about fall, out Glad you cleared it up. Manager is untouchable to some but what about this Signed 4 extremely poor players Released 4 better. Signed up to 6 players carrying injuries either full time or not fully up to speed Released a couple when vital we held team tight eg Mc Jannet Mc Laughlin to nights star for Corkbrandyball wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 10:38 pmBoyce is returning from Injury Tbf, him and Fats going through their paces before the game.eugenio wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2024 9:58 pm Keyser and others I hate foulers detest them and have proof Kavanagh cost us 9 points in 3vgames Diallo missed the Cup final and his disgraceful pens v Bohs and Sligo cost us big time O Reilly is running round like a spoiled brat Off v Gibralter and bookings week in and outb Butbboys his contribution is work rate Not passing or opening up,teams Patching can but has no work rate Donnican is the one but Boyce is sacrificed so Donnican too loses out But a win as win

Re: FAI CUP CORK CITY VS DERRY CITY
Travelled a long way to see this game and like a lot of games this season… I come away confused
I absolutely will support the team at all times, and it is brilliant to get through to the quarter final, but it is so boring
No shots at goal, Hoban to be honest offers nothing, 2 away goals all season, one a penalty and one in injury time
Very dull, uninspiring, going for the double and definitely the team needs support … but at times it is so hard work
At Turners Cork, a lot of fans very angry at half time, boys travelled a long way and it was poor
The result is excellent, but I really do sense it glosses over a lot of bad stuff
Going for the double, but do we really believe in this team and manager …I really don’t know .. in reality we should be buoyant, but we are not
Coll, Todd, Doherty all excellent
Hoban, Mullen, McMullan, O’Reilly very poor
The rest average
Dummigan moving from right back to centre midfield changed the game
He is the best defensive midfielder in the league, the manager needs to play him there …he is average at best at right back

Absolutely agree with you about Dummigan. Not a massive O’Reilly fan. A lot of running around and effort but produces very little going forward in assists or goals. And Patching, who should be our creative attacking influence, is also delivering little.joe3576 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 12:53 am Travelled a long way to see this game and like a lot of games this season… I come away confused

I wonder what goes through Higgins mind when he sees someone like Evan put in a performance like he did last night.

I think the way the Brandywell went from being a sell out every week with huge demand for tickets, to hundreds of empty seats all over the ground within a few weeks, sums up the apathy among the casual fan in the town.
Hard-core fans will always go to games, even when what's being served up isn't good, but casual fans quickly lose interest when it's crap to watch, which it has been for a couple of seasons now.
I am surprised the chairman and board have accepted this to be served up every week and watched the stadium empty, especially when they have nearly an extra 3000 tickets to sell next season. Worrying.
We signed the most prolific striker in the league, then give him next to no supply. He looks fed up on the pitch. I maintain we still have some of the top players in the league, but the tactics are killing them.

Question to POD at agm meeting would Higgins get money to buy new players POD answered yes but only if the right player becomes available ,wonder what's the story with Davenport obviously he give him money for someone to sit on the bench and play 15 minutes of football the last 2 months

Clearly the board listened and appointed Southgate as the new manager over the weekend.
