He also got into a dangerous position when linking up with Doherty but he headed down into the ground and over the bar. This was a promising move but it wasn't repeated after that early chance.

Agree that he's not consistent and was in and out of the team recently. Doesn't seem to get as many goals as he used to either.
The simple fact is, and which many seem reluctant to say out loud, is that he is well past his best.

Dundalk got the absolute best of him and Fats. We brought them in on massive wages and if we are honest, the duo haven't really shown too much magic in the years they have been with us. Duffy has lost his speed and well Fats was just a bit part player really.

I'd agree with that. That's the thinking with the people around me at the brandywell and no way would I be offering Fats a new contract- the only thing he's been good for the past few seasons is keeping the physio in a job. Duffy has only done it in flashes for us and it's frustrating as fuck all the diagonals all the time over to him (although thats not on him but the manager).

Whoever wins the league this year will be the worst team to do so for years. And probably with the lowest points for a while. The only way Shels would beat last years winning points for Rovers (72) will be if they get 24 pts from their remaining 10 games. Not impossible, but seems unlikely. If anyone else wins it they'll almost certainly do it with fewer points.

The number of squandered chances we've had to be top of the league is criminal

Some will actually try to say now it was a point gained against Dundalk, that's the mindset with some.

And the manager too.

6 teams still in the mix for the title and all ten can damage to anyone’s hopes.

We can have positive effect on matches and also negative as well.

What is your opinions and how do we go about it to make that difference?

Keyser Soze wrote: Sat Aug 10, 2024 4:06 pm Duffy was great? I must have been at a different game.

Rarely got past his man.
Keyser he receives the Hollywood ball from Comnnelly Everyone knows it they are prepared for it Duffy has to jump head or control as defenders crowd him but but his general play is excellent He carries threat. But look at his reaction as he puts balls into box V V few players there H e himself attacks when ball is “delivered” or should I say”humped in” from the right side. These hancesc are difficult and he misses a few esp with headers BUT at least he goes in there. Mullan to be fair ….when he gets selected….. does try to attack near post for Duffy That the Coach hasn’t worked on this phase of play evidently is not down to Duffy

Things just got interesting... 5 teams now in the hunt for 4 European places.

We''ve one eye on 1st and another on 5th. Keeps it interesting that's for sure.

Another fortunate result for us as Rovers drop 2 points. Everyone dropping points to bottom of the table teams 🤔

Just reinforcing the fact that it's a poor quality league this year. The 'top' teams don't seem to have what it takes to put away the lesser teams.

Of course you could call it competitive too, that those at the bottom aren't a walkover?

Looks like it's going to go down to the wire.
