Suspected broken arm.

A vital win which we can build on. Need to take advantage and try and string some sort of run together. Hopefully Fats recovers quickly for his own sake, not just ours.

Galway will probably be a different proposition on Friday and won't be as open as Waterford. Need to get the tactics right for this one.

Brandy. Couldn’t travel too early. But Waterford for 49 mins the worst AND the easiest I’ve seen When they tightened in second half we wreverted to type 0 shots not much push in other words our 0 - 0 syndrome Can we expect then a 0 0 again v Galway

Good to see some forward passing and a desire to score goals in the first half. It had ebbed away by the time of the injury, which I hope is not too bad. I'd still rather have McEleney further forward where I think he can be more incisive and direct than Patching, who might be better suited to starting moves further back.

I don't think we will see Fats again until September. If it's an arm or an elbow break that be 2-3 months, by the time he is back we will have 7 league fixtures left and hopefully a few cup games. He will miss Europe

Out for the 'foreseeable future' according to the manager

Dislocation and fracture of elbow.

Didn't Liam Coyle fracture his elbow early on in 96/97?

I think the injury could have been worse. Have no idea what "foreseeable" is meant to mean but don't think this injury should be as bad as others he has suffered.

At least 6 weeks which would mean the next 4 league games and potentially the first round of European fixtures
