According to William Street the Hoban deal is done and we are looking for a new keeper………
That's the unconfirmed romours atm - we'd be mad to loan out J.McEneff though

It was lifted in the summer window but then they were charged for failing to pay HMRC and in November they were put back under an embargo. Up until June they have registration restrictions including entering agreements on paying for players. For Maher to leave he would need to be going on loan or for free. EFL released a statement on it on November 1st.

Jamie has gone to Coleraine. Did really well for us in his first season. Was a good player that filled an important role at the time. Best for both parties to part way at this time.

We'd have needed to give him a pay off as well- no chance he's getting the money he was on here at Coleraine.

McLuaghlin and McGonnegal both out. Manager getting to work sharpish.

Means we need two quality strikers now. Won't be easy. Hoban and ??

He's already there and missed most of last season. Fantastic player when fit but after 2 x ACLs I would not pin my hopes on him having a long, injury free and successful season. Will be a tough road back to the top. Jamie's gone so we're 1 quality striker down and were way off last season. Toban is a replacement for Jamie but at 32 i'd like to think we add another option up front.

It hasn't. They're under an embargo until January 2025 at least.

https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/period ... 00796.html

When they played in the FA Cup on tv a few weeks ago the tv station broadcasting the game did a piece on it & why they're under the embargo. A few days before that the staff wages were deffered to ensure the players were paid to avoid anymore sanctions & points deductions, in contrast the manager & Head of Football operations deferred their wages so the staff could be paid.

New year and hopes all round. But I just don’t know how we will perform . But my NEW YEARS WISH For ME is to be entertained ,,,,,Over 2 seasons I was conscious of the number of dull pointless football and games lost to rubbish tactics. so here’s hoping this season will excite us. We have the players of quality many players esp in defence just a bit more imagination ,I feel , and we COULD be the ones .
But Whelan and Hoban I’ll wait till they produce …..then get excited. I rem Eamonn Zayed linking to James Mc Lean and he was my hero I hope we find a hero again

Reading are currently under embargo until 2025 and can only bring in free agents or players on loan.

We'd all love to see that. Both for the player and the success that it would bring.

Oh for a gem like Liam Coyle or Mark Farren that lived locally and wasnt a mercenary and wanted to only play for his hometown club...
