That article is suggesting Dundalk want McEneff included in any deal for Hoban
Which would leave us 1 short in midfield. I would be hesitant to let another young player go

Ethan Mcgee, a right back, from Dungannon is a target according to this article.

I agree with you there, McEneff is one of the ones I would hate to see go even if it was only on loan

With Diallo Harkin O’Reilly Dummigan Patching and Fats vying for 3 midfield positions would McEniff going out on loan really leave us short?

McEneff is the only one who knows how to score though.

Not a total surprise. Linked with the Cork job and other rumours that Reynolds would return. Still an odd decision for him to leave a great job at Cliftonville to be his mate’s No.2.

Alan Reynolds is coming back. Paddy's a top manager too good to be a no.2. He'll got a good job soon.

Indeed

Would be fine if it was Paddy's decision...but it wasn't, there's too much crap going on within the club at the minute. Quite a few players angry about the treatment of one player in particular. Higgins on thin ice.

Unfortunately, I can't see Harkin getting back to full fitness although I hope he does. Nor can I see McEleney staying fit. We were told last year that his injuries were being "managed" but clearly that wasn't the case and he has now had operations on both Achilles.

Disappointed to see McLaughlin go but they never seemed to get on. Higgins will have to show that the decision was justified. I remember reading a news report about McLaughlin giving a half time speech in Turners Cross and then a few months later I was in Tolka watching him take the subs for the half time drills. He seemed to have been banished from the dressing room!

It always amuses me when people say this but don't name the player.

Maybe it's a game. Ohhhhh - is he a striker? Is he on a bumper salary? has he been benched with the manager favouring defenders up front... hot or cold

Maybe a stricker who only scored 4or 5 goals last season.

Wonder which will be completed first? A deal for a new striker or or proposed new stand.

Paddy was under contract so that's an expensive pay off and shows the amount of sway higgins has. Which isn't necessarily a good thing

It's up to the manager to decide who he wants in his backroom team. There should be no surprise at a manager being given the frreedom to decide that.

Higgins was given the task of winning the league in 3 years, and it's right for him to receive the support he wants/needs as part of that. What will be interesting will be what happens after mid-November if he hasn't delivered a title by then.

I do. But that's irrelevant. Sometimes things just don't work out. That's life. It was his choice to bring him in. It should also be his choice to let him go.

Higgins is the manager, and has been given a very clear target to achieve. It's up to him how he delivers that - so long as he does.

According to William Street the Hoban deal is done and we are looking for a new keeper………
