He has the second most crosses in the league, albeit Cork have nobody in there to turn these into assists.

I know we are stocked in that area with B Doherty & S Ferguson - however, worth keeping an eye on, he'll get a move somewhere at the end of the season. With Ferguson only here for the season & B Doherty injury prone - he is a potential option.
Brexit rules could make it difficult. I recall an interview with one of the board members, maybe Sean Barrett (?) who spoke about how Brexit and visa rules limited our market to Irish and UK players.
Good point - I too recall that. I wonder if there has been any progress re solution. I would be concerned to see us market restricted to UK & Ireland for a prolonged period - a lack of freedom in this context can only hamper recruitment & progress.

There is some talent in Europe & we should definitely be trying to tap into that market (I'm sure they are trying to resolve it).

Hence, the bottom of the barrel signings (I'm being polite about it) towards the end of last season - most from the UK.

George Kelly has another 2 years on his Carlisle contract .... he finished the season strongly and scored a few goals..Mark Hughes liked him and if he stays as manager, I'm sure he ll wanna keep him . One player likely to be released is Will Patching, he has already alerted some former Derry players at Glentoran but I would not be surprised if he ended up at coleraine.. A striker that would be more likely for us is Ronan Curtis , but only if we change the current pitch.

Ronan Curtis will be playing league one next season with Port Vale so that move won't be happening anytime soon.

Highly unlikely as a few years left on portvale contract but if we changed pitch , he could possibly get a better contract and salary with Derry city, .

We're restricted in the sense that we have get work permits for players outside the UK & Ireland & the work permits are assesed on the same scale as the English Premiership teams when applying for work permits. Mark McChrystal was advocating in that interview last year that the assessment be scaled down to suit the level of club & calibre of player applying

This article is dated 1 March 2025 so I'm assuming Davenport is still taking a wage from us.

Fair enough on his part as the club gave him a contract but what a waste of money that was.

Any chance Coleraine would take him too?

I'm in a good mood this week. Don't get me started on Jacob Davenport.

Presumably once the transfer window opens and not sooner as a free agent, Gill?

According to his wiki page:

On 23 September 2024, Dabo joined Scottish Championship club Raith Rovers on a short-term deal. He left the club in January 2025.

So looks like he's a free agent.
Plays as right back so is this bad news for Boyce's injury and he is emergency cover?

If he was released by Raith Rovers before the January deadline then he can play as soon as his clearance comes through, if his release was after the deadline then he'll have to wait until July

Yeah that interview came up when I searched his name on Google. Deeney told the press he told him in front of everyone "6 months ago you had a kick to get to the Premier League, now you wouldn't even get a game in the National League". He missed the penalty for Coventry that sent Luton to the the Premier League

How long before Dummigan is back? I think most forget he's still with us as we've barely seen him the past few years

Belfast Telegraph reporting we're in for Fuad Sule after his release from Glentoran. Coleraine & Cliftonville the other clubs mentioned.

His signing will probably come with a ban as he was one of the players hit with a lengthy ban for his role in the fracas at the end of Larne v Glentoran, he already served one of those in the European play-off

He’ll be used to people from Derry abusing him then
