Wind was a big factor. A lot faster and more intensity than before to which I think the crowd responded. In both games so far, I feel like the players talk to each other more.

A lot of things still to work on and I think a better team than Bohs might have gotten an equaliser last night.

Bohs never got a sniff from open play. We created a couple of opportunities, particularly through Thomas on the right. Really good all round performance, total control.

Second half was more difficult and tbh I felt the wind played a part in that (as it did in the first). We couldn't go as long because the ball got held up in the wind which meant Bohs could push up. We didn't really establish any period of control in the half. This is where our lack of pace showed up in trying to get out on the break.

I disagree with the previous comment as I thought Hoban did a good job playing as a lone forward. Thought he was a good outlet, he was just isolated from the rest of the team.

We'll have to get better at seeing out games. Bohs had a lot of pressure without really creating much but a better team would use that dominance to their benefit. We were just trying to kick it up and win fouls/throw ins.

Much improved as a whole.

Whilst your assessment of the game is quite correct, I think the weather conditions are are every bit as relevant as the shite pitch at Tolka last week.

Derry actually did well in the second halfbin a wind that impacted every high ball.
So when folk sag "it's the same for both teams" I think Derry dealt with the wind better than Bohs over the piece.

Clearly this is a side that needs to be given time to gel. If we compare week 1 with week 2, week 2 is soo much better. So let's see if week 2 is a better indicator of where this squad is. Granted, playing 2 up top is a bit mad in this day and age, so maybe a consistent run of 1 forward and 3 behind needs to be given a chance.

Anyway. What I saw on Friday night was a world away from the dreadful shite last year under Higgins. A CB and a few tweaks could produce a good side.
