Cork City v Derry City Match Thread
Final away game of the year and good lick to anyone heading down. This weekend is the Cork Jazz Festival so the pubs should be rammed across the city.
In terms of team news we will be with Diallo after his red card and Jamie McGonigle missed last week's fixture due to issues with his ribs. Unsure if he will at least make the bench on Friday. Ben Doherty will make his 100th appearance for the Candystripes across two spells with the club. No other team news yet but as you hear it post it in this thread with your predictions and reaction.
If you can't make the match it is live on LOITV, BBC Radio Foyle and Drive 105.

Unfortunately Cork still have a lot to play for.
6pt behind Sligo, with game in hand. They will be hoping they can avoid a relegation playoff.

My fear is that we need a point, so we will play for a point.
And yes, we should be beating Cork easily enough.

Cork are almost certainly in the relegation play-off. They've 6 point and 12 goals to make up against ourselves, Shams and Bohs... It ain't happening. If they're smart, they'll be preparing for that game, resting key personal. Players will be saving themselves.
We will pick up a point at least.

But Shams will already be champions, might play some of the younger lads.Nige92 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 11:34 pm Cork are almost certainly in the relegation play-off. And Bohs will have one eye on the cup.
But agree, we should get a point, at least.

No recognise striker starting tonight - that says everything of the caliber of forwards we have.

As expected... no striker.
Play for the point and hope for goal via a set piece or OG.
And hope Dundalk, Rovers and UCD do us a favour.

Cork have been 2nd bottom all year. They have had the ball in the net twice. Have we even had a touch in their box?
