Are you talking about in recent years?
Cos this season rovers have been far from great. This is their poorest season in a few years, and still well clear of us.

I'm talking about this year too. They're far and away the best team in the league again. There are a number of stats to back it up.Keyser Soze wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 11:08 pm Are you talking about in recent years?

Results haven't always gone their way, usually because they've had less than XI men on the pitch but quality wise they've been just as good as previous seasons.

Here's a stat for you; they've drawn 7 matches and lost 3. Despite what some diagram shows, the proof is in the pudding.Nige92 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 11:13 pmI'm talking about this year too. Lets not kid ourselves, we are 7 points behind a team who been inconsistent and far from great form

How do you compare their points this year compared to last year?da-gama wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 9:39 amHere's a stat for you; they've drawn 7 matches and lost 3. People need a reality check. Go back to the early season predications. Many suggesting we'd win the league or even sustain a challenge which is wide of the mark. Rovers are well ahead of us and have been for many years. Rovers had a decent European run last season also and the experience that comes with it. To bridge that gap takes time. Years of constant improving. We're still well off their level to be fair. I recall some suggesting that Rovers were nothing special. Maybe not, but it does show how poor the rest are. Also, we let 2 players depart that really contributed to the team when they were on the pitch. We are lacking that energy, hold up play and importantly goals that they contributed. Manager is going through a tough spot and he needs to accept that some of it is his doing... but also he needs to remember that he put us were we are. Fats and Duffy have had an indifferent impact since returning to the club - hampered by injuries and never really fully fit. I recall we went through a period when we were saved or won every game by a patching free kick. Well those days are gone and now we need to find another way to put the ball in the net.

There's no doubt that we have failed to take advantage of the situation that was presented with us. We haven't been good enough, as simple as that.
