3 points required. I think Adam O'Reilly is going to be a big player for us.

Re: Derry City v Cork City Match Thread
I expect 3 points as well.
On Friday night I had an eye on separate screens of both our game and the Cork/Bohs games. From the 45 I watched Cork were underwhelming considering the build up to the match. Their keeper made a serious mistake for the second goal, Talbot did the same for what proved to be a consolation goal and Cork offered little in attack until that moment. I thought in the cup last season they were well organised along the back four and that could be their strength this season, however I question their attacking capabilities. Keating in the First Division had a successful year but previous years in this division he hadn't set the world alight. Same could be said for Tunde last season at Pat's but his form at Harps should still serve as a caution.
That said I reckon we will win 2-0.

Duffy, McJannett and Dummigan out for this game and the Rovers game... At the least.
That'll test the squad early doors.

He's done it before, but I doubt it, unfortunately.

With "robust searching" promised, I take it there won't be a Pyro Display on Friday Night.

Pod and the club have now laid down the law re: pyros.
Although they add to the spectacle, let's hope those who let them off heed the request. And if they don't, hopefully they get banned as threatened.

It'll be interesting to see if Doherty gets a start at LB. Seems like he was held back v St Pats but a newly promoted team at when, when you'd expect to dominate would be a good place to start.
With Diallo serving his final game ban I'd imagine Fats will come into Midfield for a start alongside O'Reilly.
4-2-3-1
Maher
Boyce, Connolly, Big Shane, Doherty
O'Reilly, Fats
Graydon, Patching, O'Neill
Jamie

Brandy. I never never enter the Selection guessing game But noticed posters who do leave Coll off their selection To me he’s a cracker and ar R Back v Rovers was superb. Just wondering Why ? He’s underrated by somebrandyball wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 3:28 pmYou do know the team won't be announced until Friday night?
Higgy didn’t seem to be his best fan seeing the number of times he was off the team amazed

We all know Coll is a solid, dependable player but he's clearly a good squad player at this stage. He offers very little going forward. We brought in Doherty in order to improve in that position or at least I assume we did. Not every post that doesn't mention him is a slight against him. I was just making the point that it's an interesting (to me at least) thing to watch for.

Re: Derry City v Cork City Match Thread
Cork City were woeful against a poor Bohs team last week. Bohs 80% of play. Expect DCFC to put them to the sword especially in a season where goal difference may be crucial with so little between city and rovers. 5-0.
