Training Base
Phil O'Doherty speaking in today's Journak states the Club have identified the old Foyle College site on Northland Road as ideal for our new training Base saying its the only show in town. Derry have offered to lease or purchase outright the unlisted part of the site that the University has no plans to build on.

"The only show in town". Where have we heard that before ?
It's a good location tbh. Though sadly it highlights how little interest Ulster University have in developing a propoer universoty for our city.

It's the perfect spot and it's sitting unused and has done for many years. It's easily accessible from across the City and the donegal hinterland, well served by public transport and no planning issues should we get hold of it. Its also on the other side of town from the Brandywell so helps to spread our catchment.

The Medical School is going on the Strand Road. The vacant site next to the council offices.brandyball wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 8:10 pmApparently they're going to use part of the site for the medical school facility.Hope they don't bog their arm in now Phil has a few Bob.stevebradley wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 5:54 pm "The only show in town". Re: Training Base
Presumably the club will have some sort of tie-up with Ulster University over the academy there. Would make sense to share the facilities. Would also be great if we could work with UU to offer a scholarship to entice players to play and study at the same time. The best players will always prioritise their football, but would be good to be able to offer education as well to those who want that fall-back.

Just quoting Big Phil who stated the University is going to use part of the site for the Medical School he didn't elaborate for which facility. As previously noted he said the club are interested in the unlisted part of the site.stevebradley wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 12:36 pmThe Medical School is going on the Strand Road.
