Longford Town v Derry City Match Thread
On Saturday evening Longford are able to admit an attendance of 1000 supporters, however I haven't read or heard if away fans are welcome. Maybe someone else knows.
Otherwise it is live on the usual channels. Harkin is suspended after picking up his 5th yellow card as Malone returns. Possibility of a new signing to feature too, if rumours are to be believed.

Is there a name attached to these rumours?TenaciousDee wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 2:52 pm On Saturday evening Longford are able to admit an attendance of 1000 supporters, however I haven't read or heard if away fans are welcome. Maybe someone else knows.

If he can replicate the form he showed at Waterford then that's a great signing. It gives us a type player we don't currently have in the squad.
I wonder why it didn't work out for him at Linfield or Bohs?

His class is evident but I worried in the Irish League how he would cope with the physical challenge He seemed suspect to the tight and tough marking and seemed to hide a bit I hope this was maybe down to strangeness I do hope so I d love to see the talent spark out…. just what we needNige92 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:54 pm

Haprs have dropped into the bottom 2 despite being 10 points ahead of us at one time. Waterford are flying since new owners arrived. They have us in their sights next so a win v Longford is all the more important. We've made 3 excellent signings during the window but no time for them to settle. We need 3 points.

I didn't cop that there were 1000 allowed into the ground. I know there is a demand to get back to normality but I'd be surprised if this sold out? Could people buy a home ticket maybe?TenaciousDee wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 5:36 pm Longford's social media accounts now reporting that there will be no away tickets available.
Maybe I am wrong but I didn't think Longford got a crowd over 1000 the last time they were in premier division.

I'll be honest with you Rodgers, I thought the same as you. I think the last time I was there with a crowd in 2016, the attendance was just under the numbers allowed tonight and that included maybe 80 -100 Derry Fans

Hery and McGoningle on bench. Parky must be gone.

Not surprised to see those 2 on the bench. Couple of weeks ago Hery started up front for Bohs and was breathing out his backside. Will be some time before he his fully match fit. McGonigle has just recovered from Covid so I would be surprised if he has trained much.

Great result and keeps us moving in the right direction.
Where is Parkhouse these days- has he left or totally bombed out of the squad as wasn't even on the bench against Drogheda when McGonigle wasn't even fit.
