I would definitely go for pay as you view. Friday nights are boring now. Bring on young Tony McBride as a commentator :D

I'd say this is more likely than an early restart to the league...

According to some reports, there is a possibility that the European games will either be reduced from two legs to one leg or that some of the rounds might be scrapped entirely.

If the latter option is chosen, there is a risk of a reduction in European money (which presumably clubs like Derry have budgeted for).

If the former option is chosen, it's not clear if the one legged ties would be played at one club's home venue or a neutral venue. If Derry were drawn away in a one legged game, the travel costs might be quite significant without the ability to recoup any monies from a home leg.

All depends on what compensation is made available for the Clubs. Still too many unknowns...

I agree that there are too many unknowns.

While no one could have predicted the extent of this at the start of the season, I would have a bit of concern that the club has been making some of its decisions recently without appreciating those uncertainties.

They may consider regionalisation.

Sligo's showgrounds would be a better bet if moving to a regional structure. That aside, what would the point be if we scrap the league and play some regional competition? Seems pointless exercise unless its designed to assist clubs in Europe. But i then thought there was talk of a 4 team competition for those teams to be held in Tallaght. I'm a bit confused by it all now...

NI Executive covid 19 plan puts contact sports in phase 5 of return plans. May be no home matches for a long time yet.

Or back to Maginn if a normal type league resumes? Doesn't look like phase 5 would link up with the FAI's target dates at this point

Announcement from Aviva Stadium saying that they are ready to start hosting games once approval is given from Government. They will adopt similar protocols to Germany. Will we see fixtures played away at Aviva - behind closed doors - and televised? At least it's neutral but the travel would hinder teams outside of Dublin. Compensation or grant would be required surely for those teams if this went ahead?

Think he said he can't offer them anything whilst the uncertainty remains around the season's restart. Hopefully, if we get ours restarted before England's lower leagues we may stand a chance. he clearly rates both players very highly.

FAI are a joke. Think we're the only league in europe with no idea of an action plan. Waiting for FIFA to bail them out again by the looks of things. no league football anytime even if restrictions are lifting it would appear.

Google "FAI league of ireland restart" and you'll see plenty of articles on the work going on between the FAI, the NLEC and the clubs, trying to get the season back up and running. Player testing has already started and that 4-team tournament has been arranged for the Aviva.

And we're not the only league in Europe with no action plan.

Don't confuse our 4 way tournament with league resumption. I'm not knocking the former but the later is what's critical to the long term viability of clubs and ultimately the league. The lack of any clear plan or resumption schedule for the league is hurting the clubs. i welcome the 4 way tournament but i hope others are still solvent to make up the numbers in the end.
