Today's Journal say we're close to signing Irelanď under 21 winger Stephen Mallon on loan from Sheffield United.

Now confirmed on 6 month loan deal.

14 with probably McKinley to be added from youth set up,
At least 5 more and we should be in a good place

Prob need at least two strikers and 2 defenders. Considering Cole won't be back till about May we might look at a 6 month loan for right back.

If he keeps getting 10 mins every week he's not going to be happy... What chance does any striker have of impressing in 10 mins...

Hopefully loaned back to us before mid February

Exactly. I'm not complaining just keeping a hopeful eye on his progress (or lack of it) at Colchester.

I agree. Wish Georgie Kelly felt the same too about his role at Dundalk!

How long does Irish transfer window last and what dates do they start and finish?

The pre-season transfer window opened on 1 December 2019 and will close on the 22 February 2020 for domestic transfers and on 2 March 2020 for foreign transfers. Players without a club may join one at any time, either during or in between transfer windows.

I can't understand this. He's with a very good and progressive team already. Is it a travelling problem? Or, dare I say it, a personnel problem?
Hopefully not as I believe we currently have one of the best management teams in the league.
Again, does he feel undervalued?

Think he wants a career outside football hence doesn't want to commit to full time football but part time would suit him best.

Would it be worth trying to get Josh Daniels back to the Club?

I know it's the Irish League he has been playing in, but he's definitely improved since he last played for us.

Wasting your time buying from Irish league unless it’s somebody like joe gormley who would never leave cliftonville. We’ve seen how far out of their depth McCauley & mccrudden were at Derry.

Agree, sad to say but there does seem to be a big difference , thought Mc Crudden would prove his wrong but no, the fact he moved back would seem to confirm that from a players prospective.
