I heard a rumour that Coleraine are putting everything they can financially into winning the League this season and one thing they're working on now is securing the financial support to bring Stephen Dooley to Bannside.

Allegedly the have one supporter willing to pay half his wages and they're just looking to get one other supporter to pay the other half.

Dooley is their next big target. After yesterday's defeat to Linfield, they may move even quicker to make him a Coleraine player.

I suppose that's why this is the rumour section. I'd like to see him back at DCFC.

A Coleraine fan was telling me that when the Board and Manager met with Dooley about possibly signing he asked for £400 a week plus a sign on fee. To be honest I was surprised when he told me that.

That's a pretty low figure considering what Cork were paying. Pretty average wage for even our squad.

As Mightymccourt said I was expecting a higher demand. He was playing for maybe twice that in Cork. We as fans of Derry would see that as a steal.

I heard that Dooley is asking for £700 per week and that Coleraine can only afford half of that at the moment so they are planning to pay half of it and are seeking a sponsor or benefactor to pay for the other half.

Fair play to him, he's clearly a Coleraine fan.

Shame there wasn't a bit more if that.

So maybe he has only signed a 6 month contract so he can sign for us at end of Irish league season after Curtis has been sold by us! Conspiracy theory?

Signed for six months as i'm lead to believe he's on his way to America again to continue playing after the Irish League.

As he's a Coleraine player, this thread should be closed.
