What a time to have one? A lot of DUP MPs could lose their seats with these pacts. The candidates for Foyle are

Elisha McCallion - Sinn Fein
Colum Eastwood - SDLP
Gary Middleton - DUP
Shaun Harkin - People Before Profit
Anne McCloskey - Aontu
Rachel Ferguson - Alliance
Darren Guy - UUP

Think McCallion will keep the seat, SDLP might lose a lot of their more conservative votes to Anne McCloskey.

Are PBP still pro-Brexit?

They seemed to have gone quiet on this these days, not surprisingly.

Aye, but I think they're not really mentioning it any more.

I get their logic about the EU being a capitalist project, but they would have known rightly that the Brexit campaign would always be about right-wing racism and US-style slashing of workers' rights and privatisation.

McCloskey's votes will have a major impact on who wins this year.

A big day tomorrow in local politics.

With only 169 votes between SF and the SDLP last time out, will be very interesting to see how the day unfolds, especially after a relatively nasty campaign.

Those of us who oppose the fascist, racist, homophobic, sectarian, misogynistic, corrupt DUP...obviously!

I think the only people who stand to gain from the existence of Aontu is the DUP.

There is the whiff of change in the air!

I know they won't affect Foyle but Aontu could dilute the Nationalist vote in a marginal constituency.

Do the parties got get fined for having poster still up a fortnight after the election, like they used to?

I see there are still dozens of them scattered all over the town.

There is an outfit who the parties subscribe to to remove and store the boards used for the posters and then distribute to those who can reuse them. Those missed are probably an oversight or belonging to non subscribers. Haven’t got the name of the group who do the job.

There is still an Ann McCloskey poster hanging at the Crescent Link roundabout.
