Is it a little early to start this thread ? It's that time again when we go the the polls again to elect our council. I know there is an Independent candidate in The Moor who is an activist for people with Autism. Think SF have selected many of their candidates already. Interesting few weeks ahead.

A chance to punish those parties who have refused to work for the last 2 years at Stormont?

Won't be taken of course.

FYI Leona O'Neill will be posting various quick interviews on Facebook with candidates during the upcoming weeks leading up to the election.

No government in place for 2 years, but nice to see Michelle O'Neill is concentrating on the important things that will improve the lives of the population.

A lot of things to be brought up if we get enough election debates.

The GAA sells its soul to Sky, and Sinn Fein blame the BBC for it in the run up to an election.

Sweet Jesus

I'd love to see the Gah and the DUP in a fight over a fiver

In this council area Sinn Fein were definitely sent a message by the voters. Some of their good councillors were casualties so I hope they get the message and act on it.

I will be honest until the results came in I couldn't name the Sinn Fein Rep. for the Waterside. The day before I received a litter drop of material from all the parties bar them (and the SDLP but they called to the door weeks before). Maybe they don't drop by in Kilfennan. I think some parties expected an easy ride but voters, in particular young voters, are looking at what the Alliance are doing in getting their policies across online and PB4P continue to grow its student voters.

The "Party Strengths" section on that page hasn't been updated to reflect the new council yet.
