Some great photos have recently went up on Getty Images website.

Bohs beat Derry 2-1 in a bad tempered match, and it will be remembered for a lot of reasons:

- Up until that point, this was a record gate receipts for an FAI Cup match of around 28,000 punts even beating previous Cup finals
- Derry's largest travelling support for an away match up to that point in LOI - approx 10,000. Excluding Cup Finals, it is still probably Derry's biggest travelling away support in LOI
- Stuart Roberts saved an early penalty against Swan - similar to Dalton's 2 years later
- Ref lost the plot and disallowed a Derry goal for nothing
- Bohs' tactics were to rough the Derry players up and there were several 2 footed and late challenges
- 3 red cards in total - 2 for Derry and 1 for Bohs. Noel King and Kevin Mahon were sent off for Derry. Mahon eventually lost patience and floored a Bohs player off the ball as free kick was about to be taken
- Small group of Derry fans invaded pitch at full time and tried to attack the referee
- Following the match, the Club banned alcohol on all supporter buses to away matches

What stands out on the photos is the violence amongst Derry fans.

Can anyone remember much about the violence?
Was it Derry fans fighting amongst themselves, or against Bohs/Dublin based fans?
Was it before/after the match? Or both?
